The Mathis flip doesn’t really concern me. We can possibly get Fields and even if we don’t we still have Baldwin and martell next year plus Jack Miller coming in the next class who will eventually be a starter here.

Harrison just committed to Ohio State so that takes the sting out of losing Battle a little.

He’ll be one of the highest rated recruits ever at Ohio state, and a lot of that is just on potential. His technique and skills may not be at the level of players like the Bosas coming out of high school but his ceiling may be higher.

The Harrison commitment was very, very huge! The Buckeyes continue a strong tradition of great DE's.

His 40 time is an electronic 4.62, faster than Tate Martel. A defensive end that could help the Ohio State track team??

This young man sounds like a strong candidate to contribute on both sides of the ball, under certain situations. With that kind of foot speed, body length and the long reach, a red zone weapon IMO.

With that kind of foot speed, body length and the long reach, a red zone weapon IMO. Not likely I wouldn't be quite so sure about that. This kid could be a great TE, if he weren't earmarked to DE. He would blow by a LB and annihilate a CB or S.

Doubt it happens too. How often do Ohio State players play on both sides? Chris Gamble is probably the most recent?
Also we already have a big time player at TE by the name of Jeremy Ruckert who can do those things.

I agree, why would THE recruit one of the best defensive guys in the country to use him on offense when we already have some of the best offensive guys in the country on the roster.

I agree with you guys, not exactly probable, but given his unique abilities, not totally out of the realm of possibilities. I'm sure that Day and his staff are well schooled in the laws of physics.

Most of the recruits played both O and D in high school but are not used like that in college.

Did even play much on offense at Orange?

Did even play much on offense at Liberty? Good question! My guess he went both ways at DE/TE and a 10.8 guy might be fielding punts and kicks on occasioon. Like I said before, that much speed and size bearing down on you, could be lethal to a potential tackler.

Did even play much on offense at Orange? He did, I’m not sure how much or what his stats were but if you watch his highlight videos on YouTube they line him up all over and show him making several catches. Looked like he had good hands.

You can’t get much out of 10 plays showed on YouTube. I personally would rather have him torment qb’s instead of attempting to catch passes instead of a bunch of 4 and 5 star receivers

As for what position,,tbd I suppose. The one thing that got us in trouble this season, was the inability to defend the run. That's the downside from being so fast and chasing the QB on your mind 100%. Not saying this kid will be that way, but in certain situations a guy like Chase Young with his obvious pass rushing skills hurt the overall defense. In the Mich game and NW game, after we shutdown the run, then of course the pass rush became more effective. With his speed and length, an athletic TE is certainly an area that would make sense if Day and staff can figure out how to better utilize the position. Have seen a number of kids who came in as an athlete and end up helping on the side of the ball that was least expected.
The Battle flip to Bama--obviously because Urban is stepping down. Why though? Did he expect Urban to be his position coach? To me that move makes zero sense.

They are best program and produce the most NFL players

Hate to see Bama make a significant inroad on one of their kids stamped a Buckeye. If Nick Bosa had remained actively involved, he may have been able to further our cause in retaining Jordan Battle.

I thought there was a good chance Harrison would go to PSU.
