FAKE NEWS! Several teams in the picking order already have their QBs. D-wayne will go after a few Defensive players. Fake news? Cards could trade down. They have their qb. Watch for Oakland and their 3 first round picks Others could draft up to get one of several very good pass rushers. Last year there were 6 trades in the first night. No one knows who or for what, before the night of.

The problem is that these kids essentially sign a contract with the university to play football in exchange for a free education whether they have NFL aspirations or not. If they want to sit out any part of the season they should be made to at least reimburse the school for the season that they defaulted on their obligations. The problem is, they DON'T sign a contract. Bosa essentially said that since he didn't want to risk trying to come back before the season was over, that tOSU didn't have to give him the educational opportunity. He actually has treated tOSU in a more fair way "contractually speaking" than others who have sat out. How do you figure? Simply because he stopped showing up to class AFTER he got hurt so he could hang out in Fla. or LA? If he accepted the scholarship he signed the contract. It's no different than if you entered into an agreement with a contractor to fix your roof and he walked out before finishing the job because a better paying opportunity came along.

I assume he is trying to say that since Bosa was never going to play again, he did not use any of the services that OSU was providing him for his play. (the classes, the meals, the housing and anything else) So in fact when he decided to do rehab in Fla and Ca, he no longer was using the benefits a full scholarship player receives. Your example would be more accurate if you also included the fact that the said roofer sustained a broken leg falling off a ladder and could not get on your roof for 2 months and he allowed you to obtain another roofer before the summer season was over.

Problem is dude in this case the "roofer" was perfectly able to get back up on that roof before the summer was over to finish the job and just decided not to. Also. once the summer starts you can't "obtain" another roofer to replace him until after the summer is over.

I was speaking figuratively, not literally. In case of injury, the school is still obligated to provide the educational benefit for as long as he is injured. Bosa could have used it and not announced his leaving until the end of season. Your analogy doesn't hold water. Bosa is not obligated to play FB in any way, can quit any time. The scholarship agreement only means that he can't play college FB for anyone else unless he sits out a year (and of course leaves school). The contractor IS obligated to fix my roof or can be sued for damages if he doesn't, Bosa can't be sued for leaving school.

Bosa can't be sued, but thoughts about him can be as negative as a broken leg.

He could have stood on the ground and watched another roofer you called to do the job, or he could relax and recover at home without the headaches of work. There are always other roofers that can be called.

if they were contracts they would be binding, and they're not, sooo...
hence, no contract
a better analogy would be he quit his job, and Ohio is a right to work state, a person can quit at any time for any reason

Your source didn't tell you about the new scholarship rule at Ohio State? Once a scholarship is give it can't be taken away for 4 years or 5 considering a redshirt, except for breaking team rules or academic failure. And you boast about that sideline pass of yours. HA!

Lebron is in his 3rd week of of recovery, with no return date set yet, for a slight groin strain.

Just read a headline that Lebron may be out another 6-8 weeks. Is that possible for a strained groin?

Maybe LeBron has a very large groin area.

LEBRON- Missed over 5 weeks with a strain. Did not have surgery or need anything repaired like a torn abdomen muscle.

Missed over 5 weeks with a strain. Did not have surgery or need anything repaired like a torn abdomen muscle. The most ideal circumstances, minimizing scar tissue.
