I might be totally wrong on this, but my guess is, the Buckeye offense, under Yurcich & Day, will have a significantly different look and the zone read will essentially be history. Expect something along the lines of a Pro-I or Power-I. If that becomes the case, expect the Buckeyes to be recruiting the bigger, stronger, roadgrader tackles, instead of the more athletic and mobile tackles that are necessary in executing the spread. People that can move bodies in establishing the run is vital, for the effectiveness of the play action pass. If you want another QB in the mold of Haskins, road grader O-linemen won't work. Nimble footed guys to pass protect is required, like the ones Ohio State had this year. They were the Best O-line in the Big Ten at keeping their QB upright Good points. I was thinking Wisconsin......

Actually play action off of a good running game will keep a qb upright as well.

Actually play action off of a good running game will keep a qb upright as well. Only AFTER a team has successfully run the football. That's not happening when you have a QB completing 70% of his passes for 400 yards per game. These days a successful passing game sets up a run game.

so will playing a QB at QB instead of a FB No FB. TE played H-back, on occasion TB was lead blocker, or he influenced the unblocked defender being read, on read option plays. Big Arm record setter wasn't athletic enough for those plays. Transfer Kid runs a 4.5 40, it would be unwise not to use that skill set on occasion.

After a significant make over of defensive coaches they will be under A LOT of pressure to coach up a Top 10 national defense. Considering Ohio State returns at least 9 Seniors and 13 players with at least 350 snaps. And those numbers do not include Tyreke Smith, Tommy Togiai, Taron Vincent and Baron Browning who played considerable minutes.

Coach Greg Studrawa joins Ryan Days staff as OL coach. The new head coach at Maryland tried to lure him to Maryland, but Stud is sticking with the Buckeyes. This news should enhance our chances of getting a commitment from 4* OL Doug Nester, a priority of coach Day's.

It appears Studrawa returning as OL coach wasn't enough to lock down Nester. He is now expected to sign with Virginia Tech.
