Pretty sure both teams have the same players as game 1. Now all of a sudden Willard is a match up problem for Upper? where were these match ups in game 1? these kids have come together as a team and they now know what their roles are.the matchup problems for upper were there the first game but the team didn't have it together then. Now they do.last time I checked upper has 2 solid players. All 5 from willard can play with size and thleticisn hince matchup nightmare. Just two solid players? Did you see where Clifford went off for 23 against Western? And if you are such a devout Flashes follower you should know what Young has done to your Flashes the past 3 games he has played you averaging 17 per contest against you. They are not a one or two trick pony and I hope that the coaching staff doesn't take the same thoughts you do about them or it could be similar result as game 1.

The single biggest difference as I see it is the Flashes Defense shouldn't get abused the way it was the first game. The WHS coaches didn't really know who the rotation would be the first time around because you had a number of new Varsity players on the court together. Figuring that out, and kids knowing what their roles are and what they need to do has made this team what it is 3 months since game one vs Upper. A game you could point to and see the difference in real time would be the Vermillion games. The difference in those two games,,,,I kinda expect to see in this game as well.
I think Upper has 4 "players who can impact a game" I think Willard has 5 "players who can impact a game" Being as Upper doesn't have an All State caliber player in its lineup ,,,,over the course of 4 quarters,,5 will beat 4. And,,I'll take Joe and Hirsch over Uppers coaches as well.

neither of those players would start for willard That's interesting because in the District Coaches Association 3 Upper Sandusky kids were selected before a 4th Willard kid. So the Coaches think that 3 US players are better than the 4th and 5th Willard starter. In fact, 2 Upper kids were selected ahead of the 2nd Willard selection. Meaning the coaches feel that 2 of the top 3 players in this game are on Upper's side.

I'm sure you are aware that NW Ohio awards are done by sports reporters who lock themselves in a room and trade information to put their teams together. Some would argue the coach's vote is a better representative of the area since some schools do not have a dedicated sport reporter covering them in that room for support. jmo

Now that Willard has deservedly won their first District Title in 13 years, your pent disappointment causes you to spew hate. You're making your fellow Willard fans look bad. Whilst the team and coaching looks outstanding. Sounds like "the young player" will be the next player xlegend will get to "move" in.

Seems like just yesterday they were at regionals with Langhurst.

In the future, if the coaching staff can continue to get their players to buy in to the importance of defense, like they did this year. Then Willard can win, even when they don't have the talent they have this year.

About an hour after Willard advanced to the regionals, Coach Nossaman’s Olentangy Liberty team also advanced to regionals with a win over Hilliard Davidson.
Good day for Willard and former Willard coaches.

Willard by far was the more prepared team. Classic example of a team (Willard) that improved throughout the season and a team went the opposite direction(Upper). Not sure what or if Upper had a game plan. I thought Willard beat Upper at their own game. Just sitting in the stands one could see the difference in team chemistry.

I gotta say that the interview That McCreery did after the Western game was a big help tonight. Glad he saw fit to help focus this Flashes team on the job at hand with his remarks about beating them by 20+ in the first meeting of the season ... for what THATS worth. We made sure that the team was aware of the fact that maybe he was thinking we weren’t quite the caliber of the Rams. Humility is a hard pill to swallow Mr more turnovers than points tonight. Just a thought young blood ... save the trash talk for after the game. The last thing you should do is give someone bulletin board material to get them even more fired up to kick your arse.
Thanks again tho ...

Thanks again tho ... FURTHERMORE; man on man, match up up against match up, US is an inferior team. They advanced in the tourney to the point they should have/were capable of. McCreary is talented, but his selfishness outweighs his talent, Vant is good.... but the addition of McCreary has put him in an awkward/unfamiliar situation. Young can play on my team anyday, he truly represents the TEAM concept. Willard won because their 5 is much better the Upper's 5.
