broccoli-- I was quick to point out the accurate margin of victory, that's all. It really doesn't matter if they lost to the Celtics, they lost so it doesn't matter. Some of us do not see this as an argument but more of a discussion about how teams are shaping up and the competition they have played.

Everybody's record at tournament time is 0-0. That's why it is the best time of the year for high school sports!! This sect/dist will be more competitive than it has been in recent years and, I for one, can't wait. I only see 5 teams capable of advancing to the regional. But, that in itself should lead to some very interesting games.

With respect to Vermilion, the #1 seed in the district goes to the winner of Norwalk at Lexington Friday night. Vermilion and Senior 3/4 in either order and Clear Fork a solid # 5 even after losing to Ontario. Sandusky #6 and a surging Ontario #7. Drawing Sunday!!

Re: the seeding, that wouldn't surprise me one bit and I don't have an issue with it. Ordering those teams without head-to-head results going in is an exercise in splitting hairs. Strength of schedule aside, Vermilion's position as a geographic outlier compared to most other top teams in the district doesn't help their cause. It's not a complaint, but a reality that most district teams outside of Erie County won't have the chance to see them play more than once, if at all.
It should be interesting--if the Sailors lose to someone in the district (and they certainly could), it will be in a game that comes down to one or two possessions. If they find a way to win the district, it will only be after they've won one, two, or three games in the same fashion.

Don't discount that Vermilion has 8 other SBC schools to support them. Lex and Senior are the only 2 OCC schools in the District and they don't like each other.

Maxpreps agrees with most on here that this is a very tight race at the top (4 teams) then a gap to the rest...
Ohio Rank Mansfield 52 Lexington 55 Vermillion 60 Norwalk 61
Clearfork 95
The Norwalk-Lex game and Vermillion-Willard games will clear up the picture quite a bit. Norwalk will have their hands full with Lex and Willard with Vermillion. If the favorites win these two contests the seeds could very well go as above

None of those records are correct so Maxpreps rankings at this time is worthless.

Actual records Mansfield at 13-3, Lexington at 13-3, Vermilion at 16-2 and Norwalk at 14-2. Three of the teams have inflated records and one team has a win missing. Not a very accurate ranking system if they cannot get the records right.

I think the top 4 will be Norwalk, Lexington, Mansfield Sr and Vermilion. But 5-12 could still have a a lot of movement since the records don't have to in until tomorrow by midnight, the bottom three are set with tiffin, Edison and Port Clinton. Be very interesting how the draw will go on Sunday

Clear Fork and Vermilion are both good teams, but comparable? Copley, Canton McKinley, Olmstead Falls, Whitehall, Westerville Central and North, Northland, Dublin Coffman, Newark and Delaware Hayes compare to Who on the schedules of Clear Fork or Vermilion and their leagues? Other than the two Vermilion losses, who have they played that has been a good team that the OCC teams did not play? Same question for Clear Fork? If you read it again, I was strictly mentioning conference schedules, out of conference is a different story. I admit that CF out of conference is not the same as Others You want to tell us again why CF should get a top seed?

Here are the final records for each team in the order that I think will happen in the draw
1- Norwalk 16-2 2- Lexington 14-4 3- Vermilion 17-3 4- Mansfield Sr 14-4 5- Clear Fork 16-4 6- Sandusky 10-6 7- Ontario 10-7 8- Clyde 10-8 9- Sandusky Perkins 10-9 10- Shelby 9-10 11- Bellevue 6-11 12- Galion 6-11 13- Tiffin Columbian 3-15 14- Edison 2-16 15- Port Clinton 1-17
Norwalk will probably go to Willard and Lexington will go to Bucyrus. It might be chalk where the top four make it to the Districts. But I wouldn't be surprised if any teams that are ranked 5-9 pull an upset and make it to Madison. Should be a fun Sectional with at least 10 good teams. 11-15 will probably be one and done. Should find out around 2:15-2:30

Questions, why would Vermilion be above Mansfield Sr? And what make you think Norwalk goes to Willard and Lexington to Bucyrus? Since the inception of the super sectionals, majority of the top two seeds goes to opposite site and the top seed would go to the closet site. If you look at the DII girls district, #1 Bellevue went to Monroeville, while #2 Willard went to Bucyrus. Plus, I am just taking a guess on the seeds, last year Vermilion was the #1 seed, so anything can happen.

You don’t see the 2 seed go on the 1 seed side very often
