Let's start with the district we are most familiar with. On paper, it's probably the weakest.
Norwalk District-
1. Willard
2. Upper Sandusky
3. Western Reserve
4. Carey
Toledo District
1. Genoa 17-0 Ranked 4 in the state. Veteran team. Best win Anthony Wayne and then probably Clyde-Very weak schedule and league but do have a showdown with Wauseon next Tuesday.
2. Cardinal Stritch--15-3--Have two 1000 point scorers. One has several D1 offers. Three 3 year letter winners. This is supposed to be their year. They played 3 games in Tennessee and also played and lost at the buzzer to Marion Local in the flying to the hoop tournament. They are traveling to Norwalk tomorrow.
3. Evergreen 15-3-Stritch beat them by 13 earlier in the year. Play in the NWOAL with Archbold and Wauseon.
I'll stop right there...no else even has a pulse
Lima District
1-Archbold 19-0 #1 in the state-Balanced team-first year coach Joe Frank-Was long time asst to Kraus. Balanced team, probably best player is going to BGSU on a baseball scholarship
2-OG 15-3 Losses to Archbold, Findlay and Lexington; Play a very tough schedule. Hiegel kid is one of the best scoring PGs in the area. Seems OG always has a player like that
3-Bluffton 13-6- Started hot including a win over one of the best D4 teams in the state, Convoy Crestview but have cooled off considerably since. Don't consider them a contender
4-Van Buren 11-5-Beat Carey by 10, for comparison purposes; don't think they are a contender
Columbus 1
2-Worthington Christian--Have made some trips to state before as a D4 school
3-Johnstown
5-Fairbanks-not a traditional powerhouse
8-Marion Pleasant--14-5 9-3 in MOAC 2nd place behind CF
My money is on:
1 OG/Archbold winner
2. Cardinal Stritch
3. Worthington Christian
