I thought h2h record was the tiebreaker...not only for the post-season entry but also ties during the post-season.
And I'd like to see the 3 tier tiebreakers as: head to head record overall winning percentage division record (for making the playoffs) non-division record (for playoff ties)

Should a division winner hold the tie breaker? Should the best overall record be rewarded?

Yeah, I think we all kind of thought the Head to ahead was the 1st tiebreaker.
I know me and TESL dealt with it last year, but since he was higher seed, better record and won the division we just assumed it was head to head and didn’t think too much about it.
Like I told TIG, I’m glad it involves me. If it was one of you other guys I could see it getting real messy. I think both me and TIG are fine either way since we’ve both had success in the past(doesn’t mean we’d like it)
I’m fine cause I already have two titles, 6 playoff appearances and 3 dead guys

Still doesn’t mean I’d like it though, but I’d probably like it even less if I was in TIGS position and didn’t advance

You could have the 6th best record in the league and win a division theoretically.

But then on saturday, something made me search for the answer. I immediately got ****** off when I saw the ESPN default haha. I will tell you all what I told South. I do think that I should have won based on head to head and a better overall record. I also see the downside of making a change to him being the winner and making a change in season. I dont love that part to be honest. Either way one of us isn't going to be happy about the outcome.

I don't think that there has to be a bonus for winning a division. You could have the 6th best record in the league and win a division theoretically. Then get rid of the divisions and let’s go the best 4 records make it. Either way I don’t really care since I like to take the route of losing in the first round anytime I make it to the playoffs. I get both sides arguments for advancing but if we have been operating under the assumption that it’s been best H2H record then keep it that way.

H2h is 1st tiebreaker Winning % Also divisions are useless in this format IMO should be top 4 teams (I actually think it should be top 6).

If the rules are in place already they can't be changed until next season. Rules are rules

If the rules are in place already they can't be changed until next season. Rules are rules Yeah, apparently they have been like that for the last 6 years and we’ve never run into it. And for 6 years every one of us was operating under a different set of rules, including me. When TIG posted yesterday ‘good luck in the finals’ I texted him like wtf. Was sure I didn’t have the tiebreak.

i am of the opinion that ignorance is not an excuse for changing a rule, it's a stupid rule but if it's always been that way then we shouldn't change it until before next season

I’ve been sick as a dog with flu but I voted for south even though I don’t like it. The poopy rules have always been around since day 1 I bet. we can vote to change them if needed

I told South just to not worry about the rest of the vote or a possible 3 man vote and leave it as it is. Everyone is split on it so we should just let it be.
I really think it is a crappy thing and I'm not happy about it. But I guess the " right" thing to do is leave it.

I don’t like it either.
I voted early for TIG, mostly because as commish I didn’t want to benefit from this BS. I also don’t like winning with any sort of asterisk. If it had been another owner I would’ve voted against TIG, because as you all are aware, I hate changing anything midseason, especially something this significant.
Shitttty all around.

I voted against my own best interest. Who would I rather play vs what is the rule of the land? Would I rahter have 2 teams from the same division or the better h2h record represented? It wasn't an easy decision and honestly not sure which was the 'right' choice. In the end I chose the to uphold established rule of law.
This hasn't been an issue until now, which was why we haven't addressed the issue until recently. Would I vote to make the change from what it is currently? Probably, but not in-season as the playoffs have already started and the rule was never changed to supersede what our host site has established.
And personally I would probably rather not play South again. My record is pretty terrible against him and those 230 k's last week were impressive as well as a daunting task to overcome.
I wanted to abstain from this vote, but when I checked this morning and saw how close it was I knew I needed to make a decision.

Yelich
Active DL Keeper
*actually I'll just keep him on my roster, I have an IL spot available. Granted, they put him on the IL soon.

There is a new poll up by the way.
Forgot to post here.
In regards to that, I just want to point out that I had 1 Closer most of the year, and he was injured, and I still won my 1st Round Saves category.
