I read the stupid article, written in a half critical manner. UM is going to play around in the broadcast booth as color commentator and possibly become the next OSU athletic director

Torch seems to have a pretty good handle on OSU football. Curious question here....Would the OSU faithful be ****** if UM took a job all the way across the country against a team the Buckeyes might not play again in years?

He is going to work for FOX in LA rofl. When they back up the Brinx truck he won't say no. He is only 55. And you can win titles at USC. And have a pretty good life in SoCal.

Also 12 months sportsjock was telling Urbs would be here for years to come. Yikes.

As far as I know, Urban continues his role as assistant athletic director, along with his new contract with Fox Sports. Whatever he may decide to take his career moving forward, I wish him well and has zero impact on anything Ohio State. Consequently, there is no controversy, despite efforts by some, that attempt to create one.

Isn't the show filmed live on the site of the game that week? This is very possible he will do some homework in Columbus and then fly to the game site then fly home to Ohio that night. Very few if ever trips to LA. Much like Herbie or Coach with ESPN College Gameday.

Son, you have a VERY poor memory, or is it selective? THE LAST TIME when your typical rudeness failed, you asked nicely, so I told you how I knew Gene Smith's facts and position on the Transfer Portal. Has your memory been jogged? I await your retraction. Or will this be another time when you just ride off into the sunset? Schooled once again. You count reading something in print as "breaking a story"?? Hell I've done that 100's of times. BTW, do you know Stan Jefferson?

"Wife is dead set against him returning to coaching" Just sayin what he's sayin,,, End of story.......lol Now, about that AD job? Perhaps, perhaps not, but he will enjoy his time as simply a fan and observer of the game of college football, while jawing with his constituents in the broadcast booth. For us Buckeye fans, Urban never left us. His presence is going to be felt in a different manner, is all. The really good thing for Ohio State Football, the Buckeye brand will have another voice in the national media.

Urban can't leave. They're apparently opening a new restaurant with his name on it in Dublin (where the Ram Brewery was in the Bridge Park area).

The USC offer would have made Urban the highest paid coach in College football.
Shelly doesn't want Urban to die in his 50's.

I don’t think urban ever coaches at USC. The Zach Smith situation won’t play well in the California media. Now if Notre Dame ever came open he’ll absolutely take that in a heart beat.

DUH!! OBVIOUSLY he won't coach at USC. Urban turned down THE USC offer, of THE largest contract in the history of College football. So USC doesn't give a shat about Zach Smith, neither would the press if Urban won some PAC 12 Titles.
Being a Catholic school, I don't think Notre Dame wants to kill Urban.

The Zach Smith situation? Are you frickin kidding me??.............lol The 'Zach Smith situation' won't play well on the left coast, but ND will? The largest offer in the history of college football, sounds like Zachary Smith was not in USC's minutest of equations. Urban is not coaching again, end of story.

If USC actually offered Urban the largest contract ever and he turned it down to stay in retirement. SURELY someone other than Nevada would be reporting it by now! Yet Twitter is quiet and the ticker on sportscenter says nothing. HOW could this possibly be Willard?

Do you honestly think that USC offered Urban a record breaking contract one month prior to the start of the season while they still have a head coach? A head coach with a 15 million dollar buyout they’d owe Helton in full. Also why is Nevada the only person on the internet claiming this huge CFB story to be real? This is a huge story and exactly zero major or minor media outlets have said anything. I even looked on twitter and the only things relating to Urban are about his new podcast. I mean USC is one of the flagships of one of the biggest sports markets in the world (LA). Urban Meyer being offered the largest contract in history (while they still have a coach) is not going to go unnoticed even if it’s done on the down low. As far as Zach goes Notre Dame ain’t what it used to be when it comes to values. Brian Kelly caused a kid’s death through pure negligence and he’s still the head coach. If the church will overlook a body for the sake of wins they will surely have no qualms with Urban’s career long pattern of enabling.

Certainly, mistakes were made and the exact circumstances and how it was handled internally is solely the matter of Notre Dame.

I see you jumped to the default setting of an OSU fan when they can’t defend their position. Blame it on Michigan and jump onto the next topic to avoid having to discus. What happened to Declan Sullivan was a tragedy of negligence at the hands of Brian Kelly. Every other program in the region either moved practice indoors or didn’t send up the camera crews. Michigan, Ohio State, Sparty, Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue all were smart enough to realize the weather wasn’t safe. Hell I remember Tressel giving an interview that day specifically saying that he moved practice inside for the safety of the camera guys. Notre Dame skated on responsibility but if they’ll keep a coach who was unquestionably neglegent and it cost a student his life. Why would a thing like the zach smith affair bother Notre Dame?
