Any early thoughts on next season? What returns the most talent?

Sandusky should be the final winner

3 team race.
Sandusky returns 3 starters, including Jayrese Williams NW District POY. Depth and lack of a post will be an issue again this year.
Shelby returns 5 players in their rotation from last year and their Freshman who broke his wrist(s) early in the year. Need to find team cohesiveness.
Ontario returns 3 starters. Seniors 2 year starter 6-0 PG Trey Jordon and 6-1 Guard Quan Jackson, also 6-7 Junior Logan Jones. Senior 6-1 Guard Jackson Todd, best 3-point shooter came off the bench last year. Fifth starter should come from 6-5 Senior Owen Zeiter, 6-6 Junior Addison Patrick or 6-3 Soph Parker VanArsdalen. Freshman PG Cam Todd could see Varsity action. Could lack the quality depth of the past 3 years

The safest bet would be to put your money on Sandusky in the NOL's final season. They return 4 starters from last year's 19-4 team including arguably the top player in the NOL.
Shelby could also be a factor but there are a couple questionable players/starters that may not return. Again
Ontario can always be tossed into the discussion as long as Balogh is around. That being said, this could be the shallowest talent pool he has had in his years in the NOL so only time will tell.
Norwalk could pull of some upsets but doubtful they will be in a position to be on top of the NOL.
Tiffin and Bellevue should improve from last year but will probably not be contenders.
Willard is looking forward to a new league.

Sandusky is the team to beat, IMO, followed by Joe's men and then possibly Shelby. Coach B really develops his players through the system and even when the talent isn't necessarily the best or deepest, he finds a way to win. Really believe the Warriors are the dark horse favorite.

I agree, you may struggle to find a Coach B team lately that does not have talent OR is not deep. He most often has one or the other but usually both.

I agree with the 3 team race between Sandusky/Shelby/Ontario, with them being in that order. Norwalk would be my sleeper pick there as I like their team as a whole but lack of a big presence in the middle could be an issue on the boards.

Which tells me the fifth starter probably won't be one of those from above. Instead it could be a younger, same size, much more athletic player than those three.

It would appear we need to start a new topi line for those concerned about who Ontarios 5th starter will be six months from now.
Vottrucker, I think the lack of size was an issue for the truckers last season but when they were healthy they did have some kids playing bigger than what they were on the roster. I could see them being a sleeper pick by some.

It would appear that you, not we, would be WRONG once again. No need for a debate on this. Just updating an out of date post.

No surprise, you seem to always be pointing out how others are wrong. Even when they only post their thoughts.

Why am I not allowed to have a "thought"?? As is typical your "thought" included an unnecessary unequivocal put down. Which did make it "wrong" in substance and intent.
Should be revisit the Willard thread on this forum and count the many times you told people they were thinking incorrectly?

my thought would be Sandusky is the favorite as they return 4 starters. Shelby COULD be next as they COULD have a veteran squad and their style of play can be hard to defend.

They will be a very interesting group to watch this year and could be a sleeper. But I think they'll struggle with Sandusky and Ontario like they did last season.

No it's not. It's actually annoying as hell. Most of us come here to read about our local team, and instead we're subjected to a couple of little boys in a pissing contest.

Does a Sandusky football playoff team delay the Sundusky basketball team in any way?

Does a Sandusky football playoff team delay the Sundusky basketball team in any way? I would say yes especially when you have 5 or 6 varsity bball players on the football team.

Thanks.

I know Croom and Williams are both starting WR/ DB for the football team, not sure of any others.

The buzz around the football team is that a few of the players will be going out for basketball as well. The quarterback and one of the tackles who is about 6'4 are supposedly going out. The tackle is pretty athletic and gets up and down the floor pretty well. Obviously guard play will not be a problem but I think they will have some kids who will bring some physical play that will help.

On the contrary to Sandusky having more kids going out for basketball...I am continuing to hear Shelby is having fewer and fewer kids going out for basketball...and some in the system are definitely considering the possibility of not having a freshman team due to the decreased numbers of 10-12 graders...those kids might be needed to fill out the JV squad. Obviously this is just what I am hearing, we will see what actually happens...

If true that is just to bad. Kids need to take advantage of the time they have in high school sports.

I think Tiffin Columbian is a team that is generally over looked, with coach Kinn in his second year and with a couple talented classes from sophomore-senior. I think that TC will be a contender in the NOL's final year.

If things go the way they are predicted, there will be only 1 contender for the final NOL title. Going as predicted is hardly ever the case.
