Mora "It's not a league you can just join if you can't figure out something by July" Sounds like he is slamming SMCC.

Mora "It's not a league you can just join if you can't figure out something by July" Sounds like he is slamming SMCC. Could be a slam or simply stating a fact. I see this as a line in the sand establishing a date in which a decision must be made because they will not be tossing their schedule last minute. I think the SBC needs to set a similar date with penalty of losing league membership or at the very least the option to suspend from the football conference play for a number of years. Too many bad pickups and 9 game schedules as a result of this past season's late decisions.

SMCC has been telling schools on their schedules if they can find another opponent, go ahead. That speaks loud and clear. I believe they are letting the program fall as gently as possible for the community/political support side of things. It's hard to sometimes recognize what you are, even when everyone else can see it. And even harder to admit it. They are obviously doing what they think is the best but in short, we all know where this is headed.

So with this being a non-OHSAA sanctioned league how does that impact how this league will operate?

It will be sanctioned starting in January, from what I understand. This will certainly have a big impact on the movement, including locally (SJCC).

Is the SBC actively searching for new members? Danbury's gone, sounds like SMCC is gone...and now hearing SJCC rumblings. Three games in odd weeks is a lot to try and come up with. I guess the only good news is the remaining TAAC schools are in the same boat. There should be some scheduling opps there. If they are targeting new schools? Elmwood Woodmore Northwood Stritch Ottawa Hills ? who else??

For scheduling purposes replace the following Danbury for Woodmore SMCC for Arcadia, but they may be in same 8 man boat if lot of smaller clubs leave
If looking to make league changes look to add old SLL schools

Why join the hot mess that is the SBC? The river division is just gonna be outta luck this year if Fremont SJCC goes 8man but that's just the way it is

It’s stupid is what it is...St Mary’s kids could go to Perkins Huron or Sandusky to play...St Joe Fremont or Clyde ....Danbury to PC ...

Now coach Notestine has stepped down at SMCC. www.sanduskyregister.com/story/201911210052Whether that was a part of the plan or not two things are clear: 1. They're going to get one more shot to get someone who will attract enough kids for 11-man. 2. The new person will have to be open to 8-man if #1 is unsuccessful.

Have you considered that the kids that chose to attend SMCC & SJCC might rather play 8 man for their own school than 11 man with someone else? If they wanted to play for Pekins, Huron, Sandusky, Fremont or Clyde they could attend those schools. Just because 8 man football is different than what you are used to doesn't make it dumb.

Put the football gear away and pray it will come back ... But got the most part kids and parents are getting SOFT .. Hey Bob where is you son .. Bob all sweaty from raking the lawn .. In his room playing video games ... Definitely not out doors throwing a ball on the garage roof playing catch .. That’s the problem.. So all I’m saying especially St Joe and St Mary’s .. GO somewhere else after school and play!!!

I think that was previous verbiage but with the 8-man push I understand their approach to have since changed.

This might be a misunderstanding - they may indeed sanction it, but not for the purposes of a tournament until many more schools are playing. Sorry if I caused confusion.
