On to week 7 we go and hopefully we are in for another dandy. The 5-1 Galion Tigers travel to Shelby to take on the 5-1 Whippets. Galion lost to Clear Fork last week 31-21 while Shelby defeated Marion Harding 49-7. This is the first meeting between the schools since the NOL days in 2010 and Shelby won that one 14-7. Thoughts on this one.....

I just hope that the outcome doesn’t involve a running clock but I’m not optimistic about it

Shelby with a tough final four games. It seems that Mahaney and his staff have done fantastic job of keeping the boys focused on the task at hand and not looking forward. I knew they had offensive weapons coming into the season but it’s been the defense that has surprised me. Nobody has really been able to establish much of a running game against the Whippets. I say Shelby wins by 2-3 touchdowns.

My brain says Shelby by 10, but my gut tells me that the Tigers will rebound with the win. They have the speed and talent to win.

Undoubtedly, the Galion - Shelby match-up will show all of us what Galion is made of. And, for that matter, what Shelby is made of, too.

I say Shelby wins by 2-3 touchdowns. Shelby D hasn’t been tested yet imo other than Pleasant who scored 33 on them. Heck they gave up 20 to a bad Madison team. They need a signature defensive effort against a good offensive team to send a message to CF. |

If Galion can bounce back and not self destruct they can win this game.
If they play like they did the first quarter against Marion H and the first half against Clear Fork - it could be ugly.
Fortunately, they still can win a championship and make the playoffs. They control that.

Galion just attempted a field goal and missed. 0 - 0 towards the end of the first quarter. Both defense dominating, Shelby's more than Galion......

Shelby blocks a punt with 27 seconds left in the half. Ball in Galion territory with 19 seconds left. 4th and 8 on the 33 and QB sacked as the clock expires. Galion 7 Shelby 6 at the half.

Galion’s coaching staff made some good adjustments on their scoring drive. Churned our some tough yards then a screen catching an aggressive defense off guard.
Shelby started getting the ball out quicker on their drive. A normally good pass blocking line is not protecting well tonight.
Gut check on both sides. See who wants it more.

First game I've seen of either of these two this year
Isn't Galion ranked in the top 20 ? if so that's to high
I don't see either team doing much in the playoffs if they get there.
