Columbian won 38-6 last year.
According to my records, the all time series between these two is tied 43-43-1. Later on I'll post the scores I have.

IMHO, a must win for TC regarding Region 10. I realize Bellevue isn't out of the woods in Region 14, but their situation isn't as critical.

Columbian consideres this to be their main rivalry game.
I've heard they now have a "TTUN" type tradition where they only refer to Bellevue as "the B-team" and that any player who gets caught saying the word "Bellevue" has to do pushups. One of Columbian's business classes is selling T-shirts for this game that say "Beat the B-team."

It is definitely referred to as the “B-team.” Lutz said it on the radio multiple times.

Here are all the years I have results for in this series. Counting these up Bellevue leads 40-36-1. Assuming my other source is correct about it being 43-43-1, that means I'm missing 7 Columbian wins and 3 Bellevue wins.

Has Bellevue or Columbian kicked an extra point this year? Columbian kicks extra points every time I believe? Was at the Clyde game and they were 7 for 7 on extra points.

Junior center Hunter Knottke does the kicking for Bellevue. Here are his PAT results so far:
5/5 at Port Clinton 7/7 vs University School 2/3 at Madison 3/3 at Clear Fork 4/5 vs Start 1/2 vs Norwalk 5/5 at Perkins

In 1973 Bellevue beat Tiffin 6-0 and I think Tiffin had a QB that could throw left or right handed. Can anyone confirm this? Has there been another QB do this in the NOL/SBC?

I have always wondered if Bellevue viewed this as a rivalry at all? It's at best our 3rd biggest rivalry, after Clyde and Shelby, and could be lower than 3 depending on who you ask. I've started a poll on a Bellevue facebook group asking "who was our biggest rival in football when you were in high school?" and I'll share the results later. Clyde is clearly our number one rival at the present time IMO, and it's pretty much been that way since the series restarted in 1994, due to sheer proximity and the route 20 football. It's also been backed up by competitive results in the series in more recent years (3-3 over the last 6, 7-7 over the last 14) and now has the additional flair of being a conference rivalry with an annual week 10 showdown. When it comes to Shelby, they were clearly our number 1 football rival over the course of the NOL era, at least from the Bellevue perspective. I've heard that when Nasonti was first named head coach that he did a speaking event at Bellevue's Club Amer-Ital outlining his goals, and that one of them was to overtake Shelby in the head to head series, which at that time Shelby lead by 11 games. He did get there, in 2012, and last year kept ahold of it when an 0-3 Bellevue team upset a 3-0 Shelby team that had a chance to tie the series back up again. Bellevue-Shelby will start up again in week 3 of 2021. Not sure why there had to be a 2 year layoff, though I guess either they were already locked into their Big Walnut contract or we were already locked into our Mansfield Madison contract.

Also, this discussion about who is each school's biggest rival makes me think of this poster from Elevenwarriors. The colors even come pretty close to being the same:

Thanks. Would be cool to see what others think.
It was always the biggest game to both my grandpa and my dad.
I was in school back in 2008 when Columbian beat Bellevue (at Bellevue) in back to back weeks. We viewed it as a rivalry then.
I don't think Columbian has played Clyde and Fremont consistently enough to be a rivalry, and Norwalk hasn't been good long enough to be a rivalry.

I'd include Norwalk as a rival for this generation I get confused easily; for whom? Bellevue. Competitions against Norwalk is considered a big deal for all sports. Just behind Clyde and to a lesser extent now Shelby. Games against Perkins across all sports are rather important as well

I get confused easily; for whom? Bellevue. Competitions against Norwalk is considered a big deal for all sports. Just behind Clyde and to a lesser extent now Shelby. Games against Perkins across all sports are rather important as well To be clear, my posts have been referring to football only. But anyway, I could see Norwalk as a bit of a rival in recent times. They do have a 4-3 lead over us in the last 7. Now there is one generation of Bellevue grads I've heard from who did consider Norwalk to be their main rival, those who went to Bellevue in the 70's. And looking at these 11 scores I can see why, only 2 games that weren't close and the home team held serve 10 of 11 times. But then Bellevue won the next 21 straight after that (and had also won 17 of the 19 leading up to this excerpt) 1970 - Norwalk 6-0 1971 - Bellevue 15-7 1972 - Bellevue 14-10 1973 - Bellevue 14-6 1974 - Norwalk 20-12 1975 - Bellevue 44-15 1976 - Norwalk 7-0 1977 - Bellevue 22-12 1978 - Norwalk 21-12 1979 - Bellevue 25-0 1980 - Norwalk 9-7 Also, Norwalk is the team Bellevue has played more than any other, and both schools have been in the same league since 1912, so there's a decent chance that there are other generations who had Norwalk as their main rival in football.

I wonder if older Bellevue folks resent Norwalk winning State in 1974 like the Shelbillies.

^ Ha, I remember one year when they blared that damn thing every time Bellevue was lining up for a 3rd down, and the discussions/debates that ensued on NOSF after the game. I distinctly remember arguing that if the siren was ok then we should come up with a 3rd down train horn sponsored by NS.
