Chance Mott returning for Ontario this season will be huge for the Warriors.

Along with 3 returning Starters, 1 Junior and 2 Sophs, that averaged 13.5, 13.0 and 10.0 points/game. .

Griffin Shaver will be with TJ Pugh among the top scorers in the league. Pleasant lost everything, probably last place Team this year.

More likely balanced scoring from 4 players.

Is Mott still playing? Thought he was at Mansfield Senior to start the school year.

You're thinking of other players.

Is Mott still playing? Thought he was at Mansfield Senior to start the school year. Very possibly could be. This kid has been in a few schools since 5th grade.

Not possible, Just 2 schools. This Dudette knows nothing.
His grandfather tells me he's been lifting and shooting every day at 6:00am in the O-rena.

If he stays healthy he could make them a top team in the area or be a negative. The kid has always been a toss up.

Their 5th starter is pretty much a given. The 6-4 Soph that got a lot of playing time due to injuries last year. The post in the 4 out 1 in motion offense. More so than Chance, the key to a good team will be finding 3 players to come off the bench for an 8 player rotation. So they can run the floor for 4 quarters

When was the last time Pleasant finished in last place in the MOAC?

I was trying to start a conversation. Pleasant talent level is down. No Warner, Williams, or Kimmel. A first year coach doesn't mean they aren't better than the previous coach

A first year coach doesn't mean they aren't better than the previous coach That can be correct but at least 2 of these coaches have never had a winning record as a head coach and I believe the third has never been a head coach. Greatness usually takes a little time.

Greatness usually takes a little time. Shelby coach has one of the best players in the MOAC in Pugh. Gallon coach has one of the best players in the MOAC in Alsip. River Valley coach has a group of juniors who started as young players. Talent helps coaches win.

All true statements but Pugh and Alsip played last season and they finished 4th and 7th in the league. The River valley kids won 2 league games. So I guess I am questioning your supporting data. It may turn out to be accurate, but nothing in the history would indicate it to be accurate.

Did anyone go to the Ontario Scrimmage this past weekend? How did the team look and the rest of the teams look.

I can see Pleasant doing a lot of pressing this year with a small line-up in the game. Starters will probably be Patrick Blubaugh, Austin Shaffer, Cole Ambrose and then depending on whether they go big or small you have Alex Joachim, Luke Thomas, Braxton Reed, Noah McGinness, Caleb Lichtenberger, or Kaden Ralston. While Pleasant doesn't have that dominant, take the game over player this year, there is little drop off when you go to the bench which would make a high pressure defense an ideal fit for this group.

Good take on the Spartans wallpass. I think they will struggle in the MOAC with the late start due in football and the lack of height. The Spartans will rely on Blubaugh and Shaffer for their scoring - just like football. Basketball can wait a few more weeks. Any scrimmage results?

Predictions: 1. Ontario 2. Clear Fork 3. River Valley 4. Shelby 5. Marion Harding 6. Galion 7. Pleasant Shaver - POY What do you know about Clear Fork to have them so high? Three reasons: 1. Defending champions who expect and know how to win. 2. South is a returning 1st team all league player. 3rd leading returning scorer in the conference. 3. Established coach and system in place.

Pleasant definitely at the bottom. Lost everything. Shelby higher, best duo in league with Lantz and Pugh. Ontario should be the favorite for sure. River Valley doesn’t have much past Bell and Johnson for scoring. They will start Jahki Henderson who is eligible all year for the Vikings after transferring from Harding. Clear Fork lost everything besides South

At Ontario Thursday night. Sandusky, Dover, Loudonville and Northwestern. When I was there Loudonville had some problems competing. Other than that for the most part the other 4 teams played close quarters.
Sandusky doesn't have much height, only one kid over 6-1, unless they have 6-4 guys playing football. Dover is solid as always. Northwestern is a hard nosed good defensive team. For Ontario Mott is a little rusty from not playing last year due to a knee injury. He went without a brace at the beginning, but put one on for the last part of the scrimmage. Shaver and Coburn did most of the scoring. Coburn's 30 point game against Norwalk in the District Tournament did wonders for his confidence. Their 6-4 Soph guard was there, but didn't play.

Clear Fork lost everything besides South This year really should be a battle for second place. Ontario has the potential with their schedule to go undefeated in MOAC 12-0 and at worst 8-2 in out of league games. Shelby could be in the mix with what they have back. Pugh will be a tough assignment for someone every night. The same could go for South and the Colts as he should have a good supporting crew with some size and athleticism.

Well aware. Tahj and Shaver defended each other when they played a quarter and it was a stand off. Thus I didn't mention.

Clear Fork lost everything besides South Clear Fork has some solid players to go with South but he will need to carry the load. Did Henderson play for Harding last season? Buckeye Valley leaving the MOAC helped the other teams as they would have been near or at the top the next three seasons with their loaded sophomore class. There will be a few outstanding individual talents this year but I predict the teams struggle again in tournament play.
