Henderson player JV then both , then some varsity just never consistent. Was a really raw talent as a sophomore. Had a decent AAU season, will start for RV. Has shown some good things in Scrimmages, just has to be consistent.

Scrimmage Tuesday evening at Ontario with Medina Buckeye, Buckeye Valley, Wooster Triway and Willard. Don't know if Medina Buckeye is still playing football or just finished their season, but they looked a little behind the other 4 teams and only had 8 players, as did Willard. Buckeye Valley, Triway, Willard and Ontario were closely matched teams and beat each other in 10 minute quarters with a running clock until the final 2 minutes. Griffin Shaver really stood out for Ontario, more so than the first 2 scrimmages. Balogh is still rotating 12 players looking for 3 more guys for an 8 player rotation.

I am revising my picks after receiving a copy of the Marion basketball preview and looking at scores from the first weekend. River Valley will not finish 3rd in the MOAC. I gave'em too much love. Pleasant moves up. I didnt give'em enough love.
1. Ontario 2. Clear Fork 3. Shelby 4. Marion Harding 5. River Valley, Pleasant (tie) 7. Galion

What do you know about Clear Fork to have them so high? Three reasons: 1. Defending champions who expect and know how to win. 2. South is a returning 1st team all league player. 3rd leading returning scorer in the conference. 3. Established coach and system in place. Defending their MOAC title will be a task. South can score but will have to find some help scoring if he wants to get his shots. Long time coach but the system is run and shoot.

Ouch is right and I saw the box score and Alsip had 25 and the next leading scorer was with 4. I know it's only one game and every team won't be Upper but Alsip can't score all of the points or the opponents will just double team him and tell the others to go ahead and try and beat us

At Ontario Thursday night. Sandusky, Dover, Loudonville and Northwestern. When I was there Loudonville had some problems competing. Other than that for the most part the other 4 teams played close quarters. Sandusky doesn't have much height, only one kid over 6-1, unless they have 6-4 guys playing football. Dover is solid as always. Northwestern is a hard nosed good defensive team. For Ontario Mott is a little rusty from not playing last year due to a knee injury. He went without a brace at the beginning, but put one on for the last part of the scrimmage. Shaver and Coburn did most of the scoring. Coburn's 30 point game against Norwalk in the District Tournament did wonders for his confidence. Their 6-4 Soph guard was there, but didn't play. Tahj Staveksie is a really good guard for Sandusky, would be the best guard in the MOAC Tahj would take any team to the top of the conference and compete with Pugh as the POY.

Galion 53 Crestline 60 Final Embarrassing.. Did they lock down Alsip? He scored 20+. It was just embarrassing to watch us give up all the offensive rebounds, throw passes out of bounds, and air ball open shots.... And I never like losing to Crestline.

Alsip started the game really cold, missing his first 4 shots, then he hit a 2 pointer and proceeded to miss his next few shots. He might (?) have had 8 to 10 points or so at halftime. Crestline scored most of their points in the paint, as their outside shooting wasn't all that spectacular. Galion just didn't have an answer. Galion lost to Crestline last year as well. I can still remember back in the mid 1970's when Crestline didn't win one single game for a couple of years and how I thought that that must have been really embarrassing (for them)...…..and now the shoe is on the other foot; which of course.....sucks.
At that time (mid 1970's), I actually attended a Crestline vs. Fredericktown (I think) basketball game because I was dating a girl from Crestline and she asked me to go......so I went. I remember walking into their (old) gym with my G-Jacket on and "feeling" all of the stares. Nobody said anything, but I knew they were certainly staring. "If looks could kill, I'd be dead"...kind of a thing.
I agree with gt1975....."embarrassing".
