Although it's been 5 years, the 59-0 thrashing is still in the Badgers heads. It's well past the point of any usefulness as a motivational tool, but I have no doubt, it still lingers in their heads and still serves as a psychological seed in the back of the brain. The moment things begin to break down or problematic, that sinister seed will emerge in their thoughts, if ever so subtle.
The Taylor/Dobbins clash will be the main storyline on the offensive side of things. Both teams believe their guy is the best in the B1G and the nation. The OL of both teams will be under a microscope all game long. With both teams possessing skilled athletes on both sides of the ball, this game is going to be won or lost at the LOS.

Wiscy is tough but i think they will have a hard time beating our DBs in straight man-to-man, because I think we will play man-to-man with our 2ndary and keep a S close to the line of scrimmage to help stop the Wiscy run game and dare them to beat our Corners with their WRs.
I still worry a little bit about our O-line but if we can get Fields time my gosh he is so much more accurate than I expected with his passes. Even a few passes where his timing was off his accuracy is shocking.

I was anticipating a top 10 showdown, but the Badgers blew that one up.
Given today’s upset, I have serious questions about Wisconsin. Yeah we can say well there’s always that one game a year kinda slip up all the great teams have, but the best teams find a way to pull it out. The issue here is they didn’t find the way to pull it out.
The way the buckeyes are playing right now and their “never satisfied” mentality will continue against the Badgers. Dobbins, Teague, Fields, Olave, Hill, and my main man Young all have huge games.
35-14 buckeyes.

Wisconsin is still the same team, loss to Illinois or not. This just became a trap game of sorts. Now they really have something to prove and they don’t look so tough having taken that loss today. I hope OSU doesn’t lose their focus on the goal.

The Buckeyes so far have shown they are head and shoulders above everyone in the conference. To me the only team that can beat them is themselves.
Trap game true, but was is most Surprising is the coaching. I just don’t see that type of game happening to the buckeyes, day is doing something special and he has those kids ready at all times.

I watched Wisconsin vs Michigan State when it was live on TV, then again on BTN's 60 min games. I saw a lot of holes in Wisconsin's 'game', it looks like Illinois did too.
I was thinking that Ohio State was going to get to make a 'statement' to national voters with a 20 pt win vs Wisconsin (I was thinking 35-14 type win), but now after the Illinois loss a 20 pt win over Wisconsin won't look as impressive.
That Wisconsin/Illinois game reminded me of the 1998 Ohio State/MSU game. Wisconsin was up 20-7 late in the 3rd and missed a FG that would have put them up 23-7. Ohio State in 1998 was up 24-7 vs Michigan State. Both teams laid an egg late and blew nice leads vs inferior teams.
Wisconsin vs Illinois Time of Possession 40:49 Wisconsin 19:11 Illinois
3rd Down Conversions 9-17 Wisconsin 2-11 Illinois
Total Yards 420 Wisconsin 315 Illinois
And now the stats that that lay out how Wisconsin blew it
Turnovers 3 Wisconsin 1 Illinois
Wisconsin twice settled for FG's inside the 10 Wisconsin turned the ball over inside the 20 in the 4th quarter Wisconsin missed a 37 yd FG Wisconsin set Illinois up at midfield with 2:30 left in the game with an INT on 3rd down. Run it, punt it and Illinois would have been pinned back around their 10 with an offense that really didn't do much all game.

Wisconsin QB Jack Coan got greedy, forcing an ill-advised pass into heavy coverage, with the game on the line. I agree, trust your defense and run or punt, instead of creating the game changer.

Leave it to a Wolverine fan to throw shade the buckeyes way... you’re team had the chance to tie it up and make it interesting but your players aren’t able to hold onto the ball.
Wisconsin will no doubt be fired up and want to play the spoiler. I know the buckeyes won’t look past the Badgers and the coaches won’t let the kids get a big head.
What’s been most interesting so stat this year is the buckeyes ability to adapt to what they’re seeing and making positive results. I feel like the last few years, it took them a couple quarters to do that.

They ARE the same team the lost to Illinois. The same team that Northwestern played close, the same team that crushed Michigan. They are inconsistent. Something that Ohio State has not been...thus far. Ironically the message is the same for both teams, "Win out and play for the Big Ten Title".

The heavy rain predicted, changes the approach by both teams. Turnovers can play a huge factor in this one, especially with the weather conditions. Expect more zone reads from Justin and playing close to the vest, especially in our own territory. With rain and a wet ball, tipped passes can be game changers, so expect a scaling back the underneath zone passes. Master Teague III may play a more prominent role in this one, with more emphasis on running between the tackles, probable. Expect one of our DE's to get a strip & recovery at some point in this game (most likely, #2 Chase Young) The play-action pass, is going to be more effective on this day, than most.
GO BUCKS!

Rain will be the great equalizer and tends to favor whiskey and their strong run game. I feel osu is much better team but with cold rain I am concerned. Osu has not fared well in recent big games in wet weather.

GOOD WEATHER NEWS!!!
The rain front, won't reach the Columbus area till about 5:45 to 6:00 p.m. They will easily get the game in, before the clouds let loose! Man, I hate to say this, but the interactive weather map has changed dramatically from yesterday, where I checked it numerous times, just to be sure. Well, just checked with the same interactive weather map just moments ago and the rain front progression has advanced much more quickly than anticipated/projected. But, there is some promising news. Although, scattered showers are entering the area this morning, the most severe, will hit about 12:30 for a short time and then it lightens up, after that. The front is moving in a north/northeast fashion, so the really heavy stuff should be out of the picture most of the game. Keep your fingers crossed! I'm using the Weather Channel app. and interactive radar. (Be sure to click on the 'future' tab, on the right.)

Just get the W Buckeyes. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of the 2015 rain game vs MSU when the coaches choked because it was a little wet outside. JT to the left, JT to the right, JT up the middle, no other player on the entire roster involved in the offense. Meanwhile MSU threw the ball around with their backup QB, Dantonio wasn't scared to throw it. Hopefully Ryan Day doesn't use that terrible tactic today if Wisconsin is sticking 9 guys in the box like MSU did. 9 guys in the box means throw the ball, too bad Urban (great coach, dreadful that day) didn't just call one play where he sent the TE down the middle and threw it to him after play action. MSU's safeties were flying up to stop the run on the snap every single play, the middle of the field was wide open all day 4 years ago.

We played right into the hands of the Dantonio's defense, all game. It was hard to watch. I think Vegas had the Bucks, like 10 pt. favorites and on a dry field and normal conditions, the Buckeyes were far more talented. Unfortunately, it cost another undefeated, regular season.

Football weather out here in Cap City boys. Better rise up and punch someone in the mouth. We will learn exactly what we have in the O-Line today, because they are the one unit that has me worried a bit.

Agree, this will be the biggest test yet. They are blowing holes in the Whiskey front at the moment. This is going to be a defensive battle, the way it appears at the moment.
