The question to the Willard faithful is how do they build from this or is this mini run for the program over? Last year they made a trip to regionals and expectations were even higher and then this. With several seniors coming back next year and a poor JV squad what does the future of the program hold? Is is this just a blip? Without question last years team(22-4) was help by the addition of 2 players that were not in the program the previous season(6-18). The schedule changes were also a benefit. With that being said, any coaching staff with Dave Hirschy on it can be competitive in my opinion.

^^^ Dump, You forgot to put Go Tigers at the end. Oh, That's right, We lost to Norwalk, We're out too. Discriminatory Mark aka Fair Weather Mark back at it. Now going after my good friend Pickett. Why would I create another profile to post when I have the Dump account you imbecile. Still upset at the lack of playing time your son received from the Football Tigers. Why don’t you move to Willard? Your lack of support, racist undertones, and fair weather nature is unwanted in Tiger land. Go Tigers

This current chatter makes me ask the question about leagues and non-league play you can control. Would you rather be in an easy league and schedule big or a tougher league and schedule easy?

Colonel Crawford - D3 District Champs Upper Sandusky - D2 District Champs Both playing at BGS this week. Willard - starting Baseball & Track.... 😁 AND both will be squashed. Probably right. But at least their playing and have District Championships. Never know... play the games. Be great experience for the players - win or lose great memories! What is Ontario doing? Just like Willard - starting baseball & track. 😁😁 How many gave Upper a chance to win Districts after the late season injuries and suspensions - Senior will beat them - No. Ontario would beat them - No. Norwalk & Coach Gray guaranteed would beat them - Nope! How many gave CC a chance to win Districts having to go through the “super power” Willard Flashes with their unstoppable Skeeter & Coop coached by the great Hirsch? Sorry - CC was the better team with the better players!

It’s not like they went through Lima Shawnee to get there though. As for CC they upset Willard then played a slightly above average Eastwood team. Both deserve credit for winning don’t diminish the accomplishment by overstating the feat...

Really is this a serious question? If you know basketball or follow basketball you can answer your own question Yes it is. I know my answer, what's yours? In this area we have had teams to both and I wonder which is considered the way of choice.

CC over Willard was only an upset according to seed. But the reality is CC was clearly the better team.

This current chatter makes me ask the question about leagues and non-league play you can control. Would you rather be in an easy league and schedule big or a tougher league and schedule easy? Very little control can be done about the league a school is in. Non-league is another matter. Did your school grow and/or the others in your league lose students? What were the circumstances in your area when a league opening occurred? Rivals and travel are major considerations when considering joining a league or heaven forbid getting kicked to the curb or have a league implode. In the case of Upper, they're the biggest school in their league. They joined a league knowing that, choosing to pass on a league that had better competition and a little more travel. Thus they should make an attempt to schedule non-league games against larger or same sized schools with historically good programs. Another consideration is the number of schools in a league. Again looking at Upper. They have 9 schools in their league, that leaves a max of 6 out of conference games to schedule. No room for scheduling tomato cans, if a coach wants to improve the quality of his teams. Somewhat different considerations for the smallest school in a league and a school in a League or Division that only has 6 or 7 schools. Even a dude knows this, why he must ask...AGAIN...is only to stir a pot.

They- CC - were under rated without a doubt. The perception was a weak conference and schedule. But they were a legit good team. Good Coach- Good Crowd- Good Players,,,and against WHS they executed the game plan to perfection. Willard was flat and before you could blink an eye we were down 8-10 points.

CC over Willard was only an upset according to seed. But the reality is CC was clearly the better team. Based on what? Other than the one game against Willard what made you believe CC was better? Common opp. Willard was 3-0 vs Upper, Wynford and Carey throttling the latter 2. They were 4-2 vs common opp above including a beat down by 29 by Upper and a narrow victory over Wynford. CC also lost to Lex an inferior team to Willard and one of their only regular season challenges. All of these reasons are why Willard was favored and would be again. By your logic (one game) Norwalk was better than Sandusky clearly...

By your logic (one game) Norwalk was better than Sandusky clearly... Willard played as bad as they had all year and only lost by 4.no one has mentioned the bad coaching job by willard.joe has issues in real time basketball.he done it last year against Coldwater.majority of teams that make it to districts and beyond have at least one if not two really good shooters.cc had one but he waited til the kid made 4 threes before he decided to get a guy glued to him.cc coach came out with a triangle and 2.didnt want tb or cp to beat them. Well damn that's smart! Coaches didn't know what to do and obviously didn't game plan for it.why not?I mentioned early in the year that a triangle and two would cause major problems for us.coach grey used it against us but it looked like we were ready for it.im still scratching my head over the last 25 seconds.i understand the philosophy but don't agree with it at all.cc was on their heels then that...all we had to do is try to steal the ball and or foul.what a mess.i had concerns last year about in game coaching and caught total hell for it but that's ok.when it comes to a big game and big moments I just don't think we have a big time coach.easy to coach when your up a bunch.cc coach had a great game plan and it showed.

Lmao you Willard people are absolutely incredible. 18 pages on this forum just to lose in the district semi finals, what an absolute joke. Willard needs to learn from the humble and hard working people of Clyde, who often overachieve and surpass expectations during their incredible football run this year. The past of basketball excellence in Willard will not “reload” because it is no more. The town of Willard is a complete dump and is an absolute joke in every other sport but basketball where they were good this year. Willard had two above average players and you fools absolutely lose your minds. Good luck next year and don’t get your hopes up because you will eventually be disappointed.
