Yesterday's total of 73 is the most points Ohio State has scored in a Big Ten game since 1950 (83-21 against Iowa)

I often wonder if this years coaching staff was in place, for last years team, would that Maryland O.T. drama have taken place and would the debacle at West LaFayette been avoided? I'm thinking neither would have occurred and they would have been a CFP participant. We've seen a dramatic improvement in so many ways and so many aspects, it all has to point to the coaching staff. I love Urban for all he has done and accomplished, but nary a tear has been lost over his untimely departure. Ohio State football has become a better place. Ryan Day is doing exactly what he should with the talent he was left with by Urban. Let’s recheck this in a few years when Urban’s kid’s are gone and he’s left to his own devices to succeed. Many a coach who had success with his predecessors players has gone down to be a total bust just a few years later when he’s left to his own devices. Mark Helfrich at Oregon being a prime example. It's my understanding that Day was the single heaviest hitter when it came to recruiting under Urban. Mind you, I don't follow the recruiting end of this, because it literally bores me to tears. However, if this is in fact the case, then he understands the importance of the proper personnel and I'm sure he will take care of business. Only time will tell, but so far, it sure seems to favor Coach Day. <shrugs> Let's hope so...
