Don't know about net cutting, sure was hair ripping and slamming a body to the floor game. Still see they teach this crap at that school. Video has already hit social media and sure it will make it to both AD offices if not OHSAA offices also.

I was not there so can’t fully speak on the situation but have seen the video and I definitely have to say that it would be out of character for Casey to do such a thing examples of playing Toledo Rogers or the girl from Toledo central Catholic a week and a half ago that was in her face running her mouth early in the game. Casey normally is unfazed by that so I’m not sure really what had happened leading up to it if anything.

Yeah, a couple second video doesn't explain the leadup to it. Heard comments in the stands prior to it about Casey being pushed around. So they still teach that crap in Norwalk?! Just kidding about that last statement - see how childish and silly it sounded??

In NO WAY am I condoning what happened but I think a full game video would be of help to any AD office or oshaa. Heard a lot more was going on that led to things getting out of control. Officiating not get things under control?

The Ward girl that flopped... was throwing elbows and grabbing cloth the entire game to try and get underneath Santoro’s skin. Anyone who was at the game realized that, and anyone who has zero bias could see that. It’s a shame that a parent tried to shame a KID on Facebook. I feel bad for the Santoro girl. Know her personally and know the issue that has gone on with this same person for years now. Not saying her retaliation was right. But if you mess with the bull you get the horns.

IMO this is real simple...if nothing out of the ordinary took place, trash talk, being physical within the rules is not out of the ordinary, then the girl shouldve been ejected. period.. it doesn't matter if there was a past history..we are talking right now in this game.. this play took place 2/3 into the first quarter. so not a whole lot of time for any buildup in this game...

It’s been hard to stay out of this but I agree on some big points here. I have a step daughter that’s a senior, a daughter that’s a junior and another a sophomore. All have said the same thing about the Ward girl. She got more physical than what should be allowed but officials yet this isn’t the first time and it goes beyond physical play.

But. You can’t go above crossing the line. This play is crossing the line. ive seen two videos of it..second one is better than the popular one.... norwalk girl has her fore-arm up as she checks out..it does not make contact before she grabs her pony tail... I'm sorry but that is crossing the line... if Bellevue refuses to deal with it,, then the SBC should..

This is worse than sucker punching someone in the back of the head. I have no rooting interest in either Norwalk or Bellevue. As a parent, if this were to happen to my daughter AND nothing was done about it buy the officials, coaches, AD, League or the OHSAA, the police would be at this girl's door with an assault charge. Bellevue girls are posting stuff like "Weave it alone" and "We Weaved our way to the championship". Where are the adults?

I have no interest in either team, and dont care less who wins or loses it. but, no place for this..

In that 2nd video look at the ref from the 16-18 seconds frames. Done right in front of him and just puts his arms out like nothing wrong. I`d send that to the OHSAA, he shouldn't be allowed to ref again!

No dog in this fight ...
The actions of the Bellevue player are outside the parameters of the game ... period. There was a hard box out and she retaliated. No excuse for that. Last year the Willard boys team had a situation with Margaretta ... pushing and shoving with a swing or two. The Willard player was ejected and received a 2 game suspension. This is the LEAST that should happen to Santoro ... but it won’t. The official completely missed it. Nothing happens after the fact. I understand that vids have been sent to various entities concerning the incident ... including colleges. I have no proof ... just the hearsay in the basketball world today. Basically ... it goes unchecked and unpunished. OHSAA won’t touch this with a ten foot pole ... because they would be inundated with videos the very next day from every coach/parent that thought there little Susie or Johnny was wronged in some matter. They’re not opening that Pandora’s box. Will BHS police themselves and handle the situation? Not likely ... judging from the responses on here.
Now ... is there anything that can be done to undo it? Obviously not. Is there a message that can sent to the player or players, coaches and staffs around the league? Absolutely. Coaches can refuse to support any or all of the conference awards the player would’ve received. That’s something that the other coaches can do ... it may be the only thing that can be done at this point.
One thing is for sure ... the rest of the SBC will be watching with interest.

On the contrary, a hard box out is on a shooter 20 feet from the basket is not only unnecessary it is one of the dirtiest things a player can do, the player from Norwalk was obviously doing this she was backing so hard that she was falling back into the Bellevue girl. Now, I can't imagine the Bellevue girl is that strong to simply pull her down that easy..... Not saying it was right but just saying!!!

I like the santoros I appreciate how good they are. Bellevue or not, Willard fan or not I’ve always respected them.
I also am sick of them knocking off the lady flashes in districts 🙂
So I have no Bellevue love hate here. From my own eyes, gut feeling, talking to others in the know.
I do believe Santoro was getting beat around sure, that shot before the hair-pull was no love tap. However how are you supposed to guard a Santoro?
Give them a 5 foot comfort zone? Get them some Gatorade and a protein bar? You have to be tough and physical unless you want her to put up 60 on ya. If it’s too rough, an official calls fouls and keeps it in check.
That said, both videos can’t be argued against. In fact, Bellevue fans and admin rationalizing, ignoring and even flaunting the incident after the fact is doing them no favors. Especially if a concussion resulted (how some say that was a flop with her head smacking the floor that’s a WWE level sell job that gal’s got a future in NXT)
Fanning flames here will get this (has already) on a Toledo news channel and down to Columbus at the OHSAA. I think Bellevue’s smartest move here is a self imposed 2 game suspension, be humble and apologetic and take the medicine. Bellevue doesn’t need her till the district finals anyway.

I was at the game, and did not see the hair pull, due to having a bad angle of it, and because I was watching the ball. No one else around me saw it either, and I would say that applies to most of the Bellevue side as well. The Norwalk bench and section had the best view of it, the side from which the videos were taken. I cannot speak as to whether or not the Bellevue bench saw it.
All I knew at the time was that the girl went down hard, the game was stopped due to her injury, the Norwalk fans were going wild at the refs, and were continuing to chirp a good bit after play resumed. We knew they were clearly very mad about something the refs had missed, but had no idea what. Things eventually settled down, and the game went on as normal. Then after the game during the net cutting ceremony a Norwalk fan made a scene of flipping the double bird to everyone on the way out, which drew a lot of "man, what's his problem" type comments from the Bellevue fans around me.
I'm only bringing this up because there are a lot of the following type comments going around on social media: "How was she not ejected by the refs?" "Why did her coach not pull her?" "Why didn't the AD intervene?" "How can these classless people celebrate their win after such a brutal act" etc...
Thing thing is, I had no idea what happened on this play until I got home and had someone tip me off on here about something that was brewing on social media. I would say the majority of people in that gym did not see it happen live either, and that includes the 3 guys in stripes. It happened so fast, that it would be very easy to miss it if it didn't happened directly in front of you, as it did from the Norwalk fans perspective. That is most likely why there was no immediate action taken, and why the post game celebration went on like everything was normal.
But anyway, aside from that point I wanted to make, having seen the videos, I do think this action crossed the line. I agree with SF that a self imposed 2 game suspension would be a wise move by Bellevue, and I agree with bat21's assessment that the OHSAA will have to consider the can of worms they would open if they take retroactive action to correct something their officials missed.
