I like many of you don’t have a dog in this fight (no pun intended) either. But the bigger picture here is that currently no repercussions have been passed on, which let’s everyone know it is fine to carry out these kinds of actions and nothing will happen to you. That to me is more disturbing that people at Bellevue May just sweep this under the carpet and move on like it never happened. Not saying that she may not have been provoked but still no place for this in HS sports. If indeed she was provoked then the Norwalk player deserves some punishment as well. But for nothing to happen doesn’t send the right message, especially to all those young girls sitting in the stands who actually look up to her.

I can't bury my head Bellevue's connection to OHSAA as well.
Scarlet's suggestion is on point. I had forgotten about that ... good catch.

Many great posts that I agree with including Scarletfever and bellevuebuckeye. I think a two game suspension is in order and that the school will do the right thing here. I talked to an official yesterday and he informed me that if caught by the officials it would have been a two game suspension. Sportsvideo said it best that it was outside the rules of the game. If officials are letting overly physical play then play within the same rules as a player and coach. I do hate however how it’s gotten so nasty towards the high school kids especially from adults. The family has went private on social media because of the verbal abuse and online bullying that’s been directed even to her siblings. Pray these two don’t meet in the tournament as nothing good can come of it for either school, fanbase or player. Both girls are seniors so next year is a new start. Hope after all is done everyone, the Ward girl, Casey, and both teams and communities can move on from a situation that’s not telling over her overall character.

They brought a lot of the social media stuff upon themselves. Posting ‘weave it alone’ or whatever other BS the siblings posted...don’t make it sound like they’re innocent victims. The whole thing has been blown out of proportion though. It’s now going to be in Cleveland news, etc. If Bellevue would’ve stepped up and responded quicker, things may not have turned into statewide news.

Don't forget Norwalk boys travel to Bellevue this Friday. Extra security may be in order.

The game was Saturday at noon - correct?
If this is the case how quickly do people think that Bellevue will take action. Obviously, to me at least, nothing is likely to be done until Monday morning. Principal, AD, coach/dad, player and possibly superintendent are not going in on Saturday night or Sunday to make a decision. This will wait until Monday morning despite the impatient internet jury.
If and when a punishment is dealt Bellevue is under no obligation to make a press release or statement to the public especially since it involves a minor/high school student.

They don't owe anyone on social media an explanation... they do owe one to Norwalk Administration.. I expect they will handle this the right way since so many people are surrounding them like hawks.. Just do it right. And lets move on..

And Bellevue AD said Saturday that it will be addressed. What more was needed on a Saturday?

Hopefully getting on the news will force action to be taken. No room for this in high school athletics. Pretty shameful that Bellevue still hasn’t reacted to this. No word from anyone?

Are you expecting a statement from them?? We are dealing with a minor.. The right thing to do is take care of it in house inform norwalk admin. what their decision is..and move on... they don't owe the general public and explanation ..

I would say they wait until after Shelby game tomorrow. Then that would leave Sandusky last reg season game. And Galion for sectionals. They definitely won’t need her for those 2 games. And they protect an undefeated season.

I know two officials had said they're not certain it would have been an ejection in real-time. If they got to watch the video in slow motion, that's obvious (ejection) but during the game, they said it may have just been a technical. Regardless, I got to believe all parties involved wished the officials would have seen it so it could have been dealt with during the game.

The 2 games is state mandatory. But as a school you can do your own additional as you see fit. And if you want to really send a message. You go above and beyond the mandatory games.

If Bellevue is that chicken sh*# to wait until after the Shelby game then don’t suspend her at all. They’d just be making a mockery of the suspension, it doesn’t take 2 days, plus Sunday to figure it out.
