Oh man if true Bellevue is ground zero for cluelessness and arrogance. Needs to be 2 minimum. This won't put an end to it and only puts a bigger target on the program. The administration dropped the ball to protect one of their own.

Guess a one game suspension is something. Truthfully with everything I know about the Bellevue schools I'm a little shocked they did anything. The school, the coach and the family seem to deserve all the crap they get from this situation, for how they have handled it from day one.

If the suspension really is only one game, Bellevue should make even more of a mockery off the situation and suspend her only for the Galion tourney game. What a bad look for Bellevue and all involved

fox8.com/2020/02/11/discipline-issued-following-basketball-game-that-injured-player-superintendent-says/What a joke. I'm 100% ok with the school district not naming the athlete (even though everyone knows who it is) but not acknowledging the punishment is the must insane cover up there is. Its we are sorry someone got this on video, there was no foul and nothing really happened so lets just try to move on and we will handle the situation. No accountability from anyone in Bellevue, not the coach the AD the principle or the Superintendent. No one in Bellevue is sorry this happened.

Does Bellevue owe anyone anything? No. However nows a pretty bad time to do the bare minimum. Why not at least mention Ward in your statement apologizing for unsportsmanlike behavior and wishing her well? Doing the bare min is feeding into the frothing public. Scarlet - you answered your own question! Does Bellevue owe anyone anything? You answered No and then two lines below you mentioned not mentioning Olivia in your statement and apologizing. They owe Olivia an apology, so answering no is incorrect. It has been mentioned now that she has a consussion and will have to sit. For how long I dont kn ow but the school owes here an apology and they owe the rest of the SBC a statement saying it was wrong, its being dealth with and will make every attempt that it doesnt happen again.

reading the victims fathers facebook page. its confirmed the young lady has a severe concussion. that will likely keep her from playing basketball again. they will get a CT Brain Scan to confirm that she does not have any internal bleeding. Sore neck, blurred vision and headache and bellevue will let their star off the hook with minimal punishment. I hope they're better than that. but i have my doubts.

The punishment will never be enough. The apologies will never be good enough. And the handling of the situation will never be public enough. The Keyboard Kourt will never be satisfied.
Bellevue Schools, the coaching staff, the team and the player certainly cannot be proud yet some will never consider them humble enough. Kids make mistakes and in this case she is paying a price yet we don't even know how big of price. Will she get calls in her next game? Will fans/students harass her? Will she get the votes on league, district and state ballots? Will she get pushed for a reaction in tournament games and at the college level? 1-game, 2-game, or season-ending suspension would be only part of the price she pays.

Shelby up 26-23 at the half. Shelby was up 23-11 with 2-3 minutes left and Bellevue made a really nice comeback to close the gap

Someone over on Scorestream ‘claims’ the parents are going to press charges, after having decided tonight. But that comment was subsequently deleted. Yikes.

so well from what my chats with some fans are about the norwalk at bellevue lady game saturday that after santoro hit a 3pointer,than the lady trucker made contact and then casey santoro pulled her hair the problems are no referee saw what happened,if one of them did then casey would have a intentional foul, norwalk 2 free throws, the ball out of bounce and casey ejection which is automatic 2 game suspension.i was surprised at 1 game knowing the superintendent knew bellevue has a game thursday against bellvue and she should be suspended for this game.but as for blaming the whole team that is old west justice and not sportsmanship .its just casey thats it.plus my ex friend wanted bellevue to be suspended for the ladies tournaments, have their records stripped and have kent state strip casey of her letter of intent to kent state.that is not only unsportsmanlike but its dirty pool.i believe bellevue should also apologise but trucker fans should calm down or else things could get worse and we might have to get oshaa in here to calm things down.

As much of a mistake this was some of the things being said are RIDICULOUS. Imagine your a 17 year old girl and make the mistake of pulling another’s girl hair. then you lose damn near 100k in a scholarship money , publicly shamed through social media , and charged with assault. all this for making a mistake. y’all act like she grabbed her hair ripped her to the ground and bashed her head into the court. what the video she tugged but i doubt she ever intended to even make the girl fall... not saying it’s okay but imagine tugging someone’s hair and actually expecting that to make them drop to the floor and injured. open your damn eyes for a second and stop trying to ruin a 17 year old girls career for one mistake . Wanna talk about cooper parrot vs margeretta last year ? does he still get a scholarship ? yup i’m sure he does and no one bats and eye at it. i’m sure everyone’s forgot about all the 2000 point articles about the sweet girl and how great of a person she is but that doesn’t matter in the face one mistake i guess.

On Twitter about a hour ago:
"I would like to publicly apologize to Norwalk's Olivia Ward, and all basketball fans in the area for this past weekends unfortunate incident. My intentions were never to hurt anyone. I know it's brought a lot of negative attention to our area and the game I love. I will learn from this and become a better person because of it. Casey Santoro."

If you think that all she did was “tug” the back of the girl’s hair, then you’re a moron. She yanked hard enough to drive the girl’s head into the floor hard enough that, according to her father, she now has to go in and get C/T brain scans. You don’t get concussed and have your basketball career come to an end from a “tug”, you halfwit. Imagine that was your daughter lying there and then talk about “soft”. Stop being such an enabler.
