- I highlighted some of the SEC teams in the ESPN FPI. If you've ever followed the ESPN FPI it definitely has an SEC bias (no wonder ESPN runs it and they have to protect their protect the SEC).
- For example after Week 1 this year Ohio State was behind 6 SEC teams. That's right the ESPN FPI said Ohio State would finish 7th in the SEC.
- I also notice that the ESPN FPI has a bias towards (what did you do the last couple of years). Notice how UCF is 20th in the FPI the highest Group of 5 team even though they are 7-3. Cincinnati is 9-1 and beat them head up but Cincy didn't go 12-0 back to back years like UCF. The ESPN FPI obviously isn't ranking teams based on 2019 alone, it's biased towards what you did in previous years and a huge SEC bias.
#36 4-7 South Carolina #39 9-1 App St #46 4-6 North Carolina App St and UNC have both beaten South Carolina. Hmm.
- South Carolina is #52 in the Sagarin and #70 in the Vogel, yet ESPN FPI has them knocking on the Top 25 door.
- Missouri is #46 in the Sagarin and #46 in the Vogel, yet ESPN FPI has them knocking on the Top 25 door at #27
- Interesting scores from the SEC this year 37-31 Wyoming over Missouri (Mizzou has also lost to Vandy, ouch) 34-10 UNLV over Vandy (UNLV is 2-8, they'd be 1-9 if Vandy could have beaten them) 31-24 SJSU over Arkansas (San Jose St is 4-6, ouch) 45-19 Western Kentucky over Arkansas
- Mississippi State's 4-6 record wins over Arkansas, Kentucky, Southern Miss and Louisiana lost to Kansas State (who the FPI has them ranked over) 6-4 K-State ranked lower than 4-6 Miss St when K-State won head to head.
- So understand how impressive it is that Ohio State and Clemson are ranked ahead of the SEC teams in the ESPN FPI, it has a clear SEC bias.

Interesting, but who cares about the ESPN FPI rankings?

I've been a regular listener to Sirius/XM ESPN College Football, which has been a mind numbing mantra of Alabama talk, Georgia talk, Florida talk, or anything SEC to ridiculous levels. I have noticed a dramatic change of attitude and conversation, as it pertains to the B1G and Ohio State, from years past. Why the change is perplexing, but refreshing.

Interesting, but who cares about the ESPN FPI rankings? SEC schools?
