plymouth is 3-0 because they have played the lower 3 of the firelands conference new london, south central and mapleton.monroeville has played western reserve, new london and south central.even though the sparks kid from plymouth had 390 yards on 15 carries, that was against a bad mapleton team defensively and monroeville is a better defensive team. ill go with monroeville at marsh field.

Thats fine that you picked Monroeville, but your logic is weird at best. They each have played 3 games and both played New London and South Central. Their schedules are basically the same

A potential huge one in Week 4 if Plymouth beats Mapleton and Monroeville gets past South Central. and we've got it, 3-0 Plymouth at 3-0 Monroeville Monroeville will be going for its first 4-0 start since the 2016 season while Plymouth will be chasing its first 4-0 record since 1998 (you know, the year Mark McGwire broke the single-season baseball home run record).

2016 was the season that Monroeville and St. Paul were both 9-0 heading in to week 10. Very legitimate possibility of both teams entering week 6 at 5-0. Should be at interesting matchup especially after last years game at Whitney Field.

things will be very interesting the last 2 weeks in the fc.monroeville will clinch at least a share of fc with a win at mapleton.there is no way the eagles will lose at mapleon.monroeville will take care of the mounties swiss cheese defense, crestview will handle winless south central western will beat new london and the loser of plymouth@st.paul game will drop out of the race.then week 6 key games will be st.paul at monroeville and crestview @plymouth.

Standings:
4-0 Monroeville 3-1 Crestview 3-1 Plymouth 3-1 St. Paul 2-2 Western Reserve 1-3 Mapleton 0-4 New London 0-4 South Central
Are there plans to play all 4 of the missing league round robin games after the playoffs? I do see the New London at South Central game scheduled for 10/16. The other 3 missing matchups would be Monroeville/Crestview, St. Paul/Mapleton, and Western Reserve/Plymouth, which could potentially be needed to truly decide the FC title.

Disagree with the last comment. The MAC, probably the best small school league in the country, doesn’t play a full round-robin. To answer your question. Haven’t heard what other schools plans are right now. Rather tricky with their regions. As of now 9 schools will get byes in region 25, but only 6 in region 21.

Really surprised SC is 0-4. Thought they sort of turned the corner a couple years ago. They have some really good athletes and good size. Something has got to give at NL. Can't be that bad for that long. Why?

Can't be that bad for that long. Why? Heard they are battling some injuries. I do think the league is as good as it has been in a long time all the way around. Could see 5-6 teams get a win in the playoffs

Can't be that bad for that long. Why? I've been to a few SC games. Not all that surprising when you see what they try to do. I'd bet they are the most penalized/undisciplined team in the conf. I would imagine they average about 150 yards of penalties per game, typically a couple personal fouls/unsportsmanlike. They will likely be 0-6, they have Crestview and WR the next two weeks.

What do you mean by what they try to do? If you mean schematically, weren't they a prolific offense just a year or two ago with the same stuff? Penalties with beat the best of them. Sounds like a big problem.

Sounds like a big problem. I'll preface this with I've never been a coach and I don't want to be but they seem to be asking a young QB to do too much. Put the kid in situations to succeed. Their o-line is huge, they have the leading returning rusher in the league. Ask your young QB to be the difference 10-15 times per game, not 30+.

Ok, gotcha. If that's what's happening, I could agree with that. Isn't the HC a former Ashland QB standout? Maybe passing the ball/making reads comes so easy to him, that he translates it to " it should be easy to hiS QB." Or, he's letting him make mistakes to develop him to be great in a year or two. I'm sure they know the talent level better than we do and have based their offense around it. Maybe focus on eliminating penalties. 0-4 could have been 3-1 at this point.

with plymouth losing to st.paul, they are eliminated from the fc race but they can be a spoiler but i dont see plymouth beating ashland crestview. and i have the gut feeling that st.paul will beat monroeville and force a tri championship. its just a shame they cant make up the missed game especially the 2 games that will have a big bearing st.paul vs mapleton and crestview-monroeville.i find this game intriging and a toss up

Games CAN be "made up". After teams are knocked out of the playoffs, they can play more games, up to 10 total "regular season" games. SO if a team wins one and loses one in the playoffs, they still can play as many as 4 more games as long as they get played by November 14th.

Monroeville and SP could both win at least 2 games. Crestview isn’t getting a bye so there goes any chance of playing week 7. Monroeville or SP could get a bye but there are several similar schools in the top of that region. Will be interesting to see how that shakes out. Only possibility would be week 9 or 10 for SP-Mapleton and Monroeville-Crestview games to happen.
