Noon on FOX
Michigan leads the all time series 58-51-6. Ohio State leads the series within the lifetime of anyone younger than 112.

Wild guess says--- OSU-10 is the spread. Random Saturday prediction 31-17 Ohio. A few thoughts about this one. 1. Penn State gouged OSU on the ground in the second half with the zone read. Michigan had a lot of success last year running zone read and still runs it depending on the opponent. I’d imagine OSU is going to get a heavy dose of it until they prove they can stop it. Greg Mattison’s defenses at Michigan we’re routinely taken advantage of by zone read. 2. Speaking of Mattison I expect great effort out of our DL Saturday. Him bailing on them to go to OSU did not sit well with those guys and they’ll be out to prove a point. I’ll be curious if they say anything to make their displeasure known in the press or just keep it silent. 3. Patterson has been playing very well down the stretch including a 9 to 1 TD/INT ratio the last two games. If he plays well we’ll have a chance to win if not it won’t be pretty. 4. Field goals not touchdowns is the goal for Michigan’s defense. They’ll also need to pile up hits on Fields. He took a beating last week and his accuracy declined as the hits piled up.

1. The ONLY success Penn State had running their "zone read" was when their 6-3 335 QB ran the ball. What does Patterson weigh 200? In reality most of their "zone reads" where just QB runs right up the gut after a fake hand off to Journey Brown. Watch replays and look at the blocking. I'd hardly call Levis's 34 rushing yards as being "gouged". I know 34 is net, due to sacks. How many times do you think Patterson will be sacked?
2. Penn State had the #1 defense in the country against the run holding Opponents to under 2 yards/rush. After Ohio State got done with them they fell to #4, due to Dobbins averaging 4.4 yards/rush.
3. Patterson hasn't had to face the #1 defense in the country the last 2 games.
4. Good luck with that. In the Red Zone Ohio State has scored 50 TDs and only had to kick 3 Field Goals. Didn't you watch the entire game? How did Field's TD pass to Olave look in the 4th quarter? Fields shouldn't have to throw many passes in the 4th quarter Saturday.

Michigan's only chance is if Fields gets hurt early in the game.

Redskin wares blue glasses most of the time. The one and only thing in his post that I agree with is,,," if Patterson doesn't play well, it's going to be ugly"
I'm a huge OSU homer,,but I'd say man for man,,,OSU is better at 18/22 positions on O and D. The huge difference being our D vs UM's D.
I do agree UM is playing well,,but you have to take into account against whom did they play well. They did play well against PSU. I'm sure that and the ND game are giving them hopes of an upset.

Anything can happen in a rivalry game so there is always the possibility of an upset. Having said that, this year's Buckeye team seems to have a different mental attitude. They have a clear talent advantage but also are a very focused and driven team.

Those that only look at the final score of the PSU/OSU game don't know how dominate Ohio State was. Penn State scored all of their points in a span of a little over 4 minutes in the 3rd quarter, for the most point due to 2 Ohio State fumbles at their 10 and 30. Ohio State had 417 total yards. Penn State 227, 99 yards rushing averaging 2.8/carry, Passing 128 averaging 4.6/pass.
For Michigan to win, Ohio State needs to turn it over 4 times and U of M have none. U of M needs to limit Chase Young to 1 sack. Maybe Paterson needs to get injured in the 2nd quarter. Penn State made it a game because their starting QB was slightly injured giving Franklin a reason to go to his backup.

The only chance UM has to beat OSU is if John Cooper takes the headset away from Ryan Day. In my best Frank Caliendo Jon Gruden voice, "I don't see that happening, man!"

UM is playing well, at home, and in football weather, they have a great shot at winning the game on Saturday.

OSU needs to shore up the rpo defense. They rotate a lot on the DL. I could see them tightening that rotation up some. I like the Front of #2Young #53Hamilton #9Cornell #11Smith/ #33Harrison #67 Landers is kinda small and gets blocked,,as does #54 Tyler Friday.

Weather tends to be the great equalizer. You saw what happened with PSU in the same conditions as today. OSU going up to scUM as number one is 2-1-1. I sat in the press box at the hole for the 1969 debacle and have the same gut-wrenching anxiety this morning. Even though OSU is clearly the best team I look for a field goal difference either way. Pray that I'm wrong but I'm very worried about this one.

The flag on Okudah was horrendous. No way that was a personal foul.

Appears we are playing a prevent defense. Hope we run some blitz’s at em 2nd half. Gotta get some pressure on em.

Yes, a "prevent defense" the ENTIRE game. Completely different defensive scheme than the other 11 games.
