After a slow start, Pleasant had no trouble with Cardington tonight. Final score was 62-43. JV Team won as well.

Galion looks better this year than last year. Even though they played Bucyrus tonight, the Tigers "could" have looked a lot worse.

Two programs with new head coaches. Galion had better athletes. Also, refusing to let a few low character kids participate this season was addition by subtraction. Having actual consequences for actions can can pay dividends in the long run.

Bucyrus' 2 highest scorers from last year that actually played yesterday combined for just 4.58 ppg last season. They do get a 6.5 ppg scorer back in a few weeks but that's it. They played a lot of freshmen and sophomores.

There's only a few that I heard chose not to play and it had nothing to do with being low character or consequences. I agree with what you're saying but I'm not sure what Galion kids you're talking about.

Apparently there was a kid or 2 last year that felt like trash talking an opponent about his father recently dying was appropriate. I'm not naming names but I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.

Good first night for the MOAC Pleasant 62, Cardington 43 Galion 66, Bucyrus 45 Clear Fork 57, Lex 44 Shelby 77, Madison 73 River Valley 77, Mt. Gilead 73 A good start but the opposition (Bucyrus, Mount Gilead and Cardington) in three of the 5 games were weak. Those three teams were a combined 13-55 a season ago. We will know more this week when Pleasant takes on North Union, River Valley takes on Olentangy Berlin, Galion takes on Upper Sandusky, Clear Fork takes on South Central (20-5 last year).

The other two team of opposition for MOAC, Madison was 5-17 last year so they are unproven and Lexington does not have one player on it's roster that started last season or even played in every varsity game.

Ah, but Pleasant who lost most of their starting lineup won by 19. Galion who only has one player of note returning won by 19. Clear Fork who lost most of their offense won by 17. Madison has more back than anyone in the OCC. Lex is Lex, they just reload, ask the dude. Though I admit, Cade Stover is a once in a generation athlete.

Saw the Clear Fork Lex game. Lex is not reloaded. First game and all but they did not play like the Lex teams of the past 10 years.

Clear Fork had not beaten Lex since 2009. If I'm not mistaken that was a tournament game. Although Lexington may have had 10 years of success this was not all one sided with blowouts. This local rivalry has provided competitive games with many coming down to the final quarter of play to be decided. Both schools must feel this is a healthy contest as I see on the schedule they play each other twice this year without being in a league together.

It would be nice if Lexington comes to the MOAC, but I know it will never happen

Lex wanted to "come to the MOAC". I still withhold hope that one day those that voted no will tire of the complexities and negatives of a 7 school league.

I wonder which schools voted that down? What are they concerned about? That Lexington would dominate the other sports like tennis, XC, soccer, just to make a few. You are correct that the people who voted it down will regret it when schools will have to travel 2 plus hours to play a football game

Galion, Harding, River Valley, and Pleasant were opposed to Lex in the MOAC.
