Mansfield is making their 1st state championship appearance
Trotwood-Madison is making their 8th state championship appearance (81, 10, 11 champs, 12, 13, 16, 17 champs)

I hope this is a good game. I think Mansfield has a few athletes that will keep it close. Have not seen Trotwood play yet this year but from what I have heard is they are very good.

Richland Source had a story about Mansfield's 1949 State Championship team. A side note that stood out to me when compared to today. 70 years ago Mansfield's schedule was: Massillon, Akron South, Cleveland East, Alliance, Warren, Euclid, Kent, Toledo Waite and Springfield. Today fans whine about themselves and kids having to ride an hour to games! AND that was before any 4 lane highways and speed limits over 50 MPH.

Possible costly false start for Mansfield. They were the first team to get a drive going, from the own 2 into TM territory, but the penalty forces a punt when they were about to go for it on 4th and 2.

Near disaster as Mansfield had a bad snap fumble on the first play of the half, followed by a Trotwood TD that got called back for holding.
Though the resulting punt cost Mansfield a lot of field position
