Clear Fork falls to RV on a terrible call, heard Mott is out for the year for Ontario, tore his ACL and maybe worse? He was fun to watch a couple years ago. Big blow

The Shelby Pleasant game was a bit sloppy in the first half and Shelby missed a lot of layups that seemed routine. Tied 26-26 at half. Shelby then went on a 16-4 run to start the second half and that about did it.
I think this team is good. I don't know for certain at this point.

Shelby by 9, 55-46 I don't think Shelby missed a layup against Ontario. Even the non-routine variety, of which there were many. I was impressed.

I've only seen the Norwalk and Pleasant games, but this Shelby team does seem to thrive on the dribble drive. I'm pleased with how easily some of the players can finish higher difficulty layups, so your observation on the Ontario game isn't a huge shock. The first half against Pleasant was a weak half that pleasant probably felt gracious for. I still find the offense to be a bit monochromatic at times. I've seen one legitimate post-up play, and I think that is a shame since it could open up some decent slashing cut movements by the other players. The biggest visible weakness is a result of their strength: Shelby loves pushing the ball down the court, leading to many cross court passes, leading to some bombastic turnovers.

Lex-31 Ont-23 half
This game is on WMFD. Ontario is lazy on offense and defense. Chucking 3s and soft defense.

Lex-59 Ont-49 Final
Ontario 4-20 from the 3, that also kept them off the line. Lex wanted it more than they did.

Ontario lost to graduation three broad shouldered players who thrived on physical play in close to the basket, the dirty work every team needs. This team is slight in build, none interested in banging. Which killed them against Lex, who has several very physical players. 90% of their points came on close to the basket or at the foul line. After 3 quarters Ontario's 2 leading scorers who were averaging 40 PPG between them, had a total of 11. Game over. Joe was obviously frustrated. I suspect 90% of practice in the future will be spent on defense and rebounding drills.
Ontario JVs win 35-27, they're 4-0 Ontario Freshmen win 37-23, their first win of the season.

Lex-59 Ont-49 Final Ontario 4-20 from the 3, that also kept them off the line. Lex wanted it more than they did. 6 of their 19 threes taken, came from players Ontario may have not wanted shooting them. They were 0-6. This score surprised me knowing that Ontario returned maybe the most experienced guard threesome in the area that is capable of scoring 60 points between them.

Was at the Galion/Marion Harding Game, great come back by Galion being down by 20 at one point an got it within 5, but the supporting cast needs to step up because if any teams shut down Alsip Galion will be down by 20 many times.

Jake Furr retweeted the video. That was brutal. Not sure if the RV could catch, turn, and shoot in 0.8 seconds, but clearly a 2 if he got it off on time.

I will most often defend an officials as being human and capable of making a mistake but that is terrible.

I thought there were generally accepted rules about what can be done given the time left on the clock. You have to have a certain amount of time to catch, land, and get off a shot versus what you have to catch and shoot without landing. And he’s clearly inside the three point line.
