I think it's wide open. Ontario lost to Shelby and Lex after the 6-4 Mott tore his ACL. They're making adjustments after losing their best rebounder and inside scorer. It'll depend on how his replacement, the 6-4 rail thin Soph Upchurch, develops as the season progresses. Shelby and Lex are both significantly better than expected and I like Huron. Don't discount Mansfield Senior, they've got more athletes than anyone in this District. Can Cam Todd be a significant leader on the basketball court like he was on the football field?

Typical district. Open for a number of teams to win it. Which is the normal in most years.

If we went back to last December, I'm not sure how many would've picked Norwalk to win the district. Same with Lexington two years ago.

If we went back to last December, I'm not sure how many would've picked Norwalk to win the district. Same with Lexington two years ago. Anyone in the area who followed basketball would have told you Haraway in his senior year would be a factor in winning district. The year before that, Lexington returned most of the team that went district finals the year before. So many could have picked Norwalk and Lexington in the last 2 years.

Is the cupboard really that bare in Mansfield?? Mansfield could beat 6 of those teams he has ranked above them. So you’re saying Mansfield Senior is #1 and will win the district?

They may play the same/similar position in high school but they do have differences that make each of them special. Haraway's influence was in scoring, ball control, rebounding, his strength and his defense. Being able to guard the PG or the low post. Tahj is a shooting guard that can handle the ball well. Can shoot from anywhere and score in volumes and can defend the perimeter as well as anyone when he wants to.

No order all have a legitimate chance to win this district IMO Mansfield Norwalk Shelby Upper Huron Lex I have seen 5 of these teams play and from the games I saw, Mansfield and Shelby should be at the top. Lexington is at the bottom and maybe shouldn't even be on the list. Huron may have the record but I look at who they played and wonder. Upper's history is they periodically have an off night and putting 4 tournament good games together would be an accomplishment for them. I wonder why Ontario is not on the list? If your coach is in the Hall of Fame and he returns the top 3 starters from the previous district semifinal season they should be towards the top of the list.

Shelby and Upper play tomorrow night so this could create a little more separation at the top. Totally agree that you cannot discount Senior with the athletes they will put on the floor every night. I have seen Norwalk and Ontario and would agree losing Mott will hurt the Warriors but it’s still a long season with opportunities for other weapons to develop as the season rolls into the new year. As is always the case, this has to be one of the toughest districts in the state. Going to be fun again!

Losing Mott combined with double digit losses to Lex and Shelby put them off the list for now I hear you but Mott did not play last season so he was being added to the group this year. Plus coming off a major injury it was unknown what he could do. As I said, Shelby is a top team and did not beat them by double digits. But I understand, your list will be changing with every weekend of play.
