I mean, he's not the best Buckeye QB ever because he wasn't really ever one, but still -- any you can think of that are better?
Fields could be. Haskins would've been as a Sr, potentially.

Joe Burrow doesn't win the Heisman, doesn't break records and LSU doesn't win the National Title if LSU didn't hire Joe Brady, a Passing Game Coordinator this year.

Joe Brady had nothing to do with Joe Burrow's success?? That's like saying Ryan Day had nothing to do with Duane Haskins' success. Do your homework. LSU had an archaic, QB unfriendly offense last year. They didn't even have a Passing Game Coordinator before hiring Brady. Burrow was only the 70th highest rated QB in 2018. Burrow was not that bad of a QB last year, the offense given to him to play QB in was that bad.

Know more than you. But don't take my word for it, ask Quincy Avery.

Not the first time Meyer and his team have mis-identified a QB's talents, but no one saw this coming.
I mean Burrow just had the greatest season of any college football player EVER, not just a QB.
He threw 60 td passes. Let that sink in for a moment. 60. In 15 games. I mean come on.
But he did in wearing purple and gold. So no, he is not the best QB to wear a Buckeye Jersey, although we could argue about superpositions and Schrodinger's cats I suppose.
We have been blessed with Braxton and Terrelle (whom it seems like everyone forgets about), Cardale and Haskins, Fields I think ends up better than all of them because he has both the arm and the legs, will be throwing to a better WR group than any of the QBs I mentioned, and will have his 2nd year as a starter in Day's offense. The Corey Dennis promotion was organic enough to be pretty seamless imho, so we should see Fields have a monster year next year.
But I think all things considered Troy Smith is the best QB to ever wear a Buckeye Jersey.

LSU passing game was a joke, before Joe Brady's arrival. Without Brady, LSU and Joe Burrow would have had a pedestrian season on the offensive side of the ball.

If he hadn't "mis-identified" then Haskins would have transferred, Tate Martell would have followed Burrow, Justin Fields would not have transferred to Ohio State and who knows if Jack Miller and/or CJ Stroud would have been in the 2020 class. I am VERY VERY happy the way things have worked out. Troy was the best until he got fat and happy on the banquet circuit after winning the Heisman.

He was introduced to SEC-style Football.

Nobody mentioned Urban Meyers boy, J.T. Barrett IV Meyer. AH...but the far more knowledgeable Ryan Day did, a couple days ago in his first presser since the Fiesta Bowl.

Without stating the obvious,,a QB's success is based on his team mates talents, and the kind of offense they chose to run and the coach running it and lastly, his health at the very end of the season. Until Fields got hurt, one could almost say he was the guy as I'm under the impression that at this point he would have beaten Joe B and LSU if he was healthy at the end.

I guess this thread is about best college QB because isn’t Mike Tomczak the best OSU QB at the pro level? I don’t think Burrow will have the pro career Tomczak had because I’m not convinced his arm strength is good enough for the pros.

Watching the 2017 Penn State vs. Ohio State replay on ESPNU yesterday, makes the strong case that perhaps the greatest single game performance at QB in Buckeye history was J.T. Barrett. 33-36 attempts for 328 yds. and Barrett rallied the miraculous, come from behind win over the #2 ranked Nittany Lions. The 4th qtr. was amazing, completing 16 of 16 for 175 yards.
