Trey Sermon has entered the transfer portal and there’s a lot of talk of the Buckeyes being a possible landing place. He was high on Ohio State before ultimately committing to Oklahoma a few years ago. Would be a nice addition at RB for one season with what’s going on with Teague. Given his knee injury, will he be eligible for two years? Watching his highlights, he is a power runner with excellent speed. He seems to catch the ball well, also.

Based on the comments and things I’ve been reading it sounds like he’s only eligible for one year.

I’d like to see how he fares in the B1G where competition is much tougher and physical. He’ll get hit harder in practice at OSU than he would in a game against the likes of Texas Tech.

here is a hypothetical. is there a chance that this corona virus crap spills into the fall sports season creating a delayed football season for college and pro football?

here is a hypothetical. is there a chance that this corona virus crap spills into the fall sports season creating a delayed football season for college and pro football? I would say no. The first report of this virus was 4 months ago in China and numbers there have started to decline. Now, we have all of their data and should be much better prepared to deal with and handle this new virus. I would like to think by the end of April this virus hysteria will be all but over.

Ohio State picked up a big commitment from the #4 ranked CB JK Johnson and a top 100 overall player. Huge pick up for our secondary.

Based on Dewine's estimates, in 6 weeks everyone in Ohio will be infected.

Evan Pryor, the #5 ranked RB, has committed to Ohio State.
The #1 RB in the class, Treveyon Henderson, is also trending toward Ohio State.

There is little concern for this kid. He is a big, physical and powerful runner. Couple that with a brilliant mind that operates in a computer like fashion, in making precise decisions as to what unfolds before him, such as defensive pursuit and blocking. I look forward to seeing him in a Buckeye uniform and on the field.

Concern I could have is about his durability. He has never carried the ball as much as the starting RB at OSU. Most of his career was less than 10 carries a game. At OSU that number could be doubled.

I detest the overused phrase 'injury prone'. Injuries is part of the game, no one is immune to when and where they may occur. With that said, let's not be quick to throw a label on anyone, particularly this young man.

I'm just saying he averages almost half the carries per game in 3 college seasons that the Buckeyes give their RB. I made no reference to any past injury.

The top running backs in the country coming out of high school these days don't want to carry the ball as much as Dobbins did this year. The 3 highest rated running backs in the class of 2021 all are asking those that are recruiting them if they plan to have a 2 running back system in place when they get there. They believe that fewer carries in college increases the number of years they can play when they're getting paid to carry the ball.

I thought I would pass along something that’s being put out on Michigan boards about this season. Apparently Michigan is preparing for a season that consists only of conference games. They believe this will be the standard for this upcoming season nationwide.

And how does one "prepare" for that possibility?? Only printing tickets for conference games?

And how does one "prepare" for that possibility?? Only printing tickets for conference games? Creating a season ticket plan for conference play only along with a plan to refund people their money. Although there’s a strong likelihood a general refund will be needed anyways. The chances of football being played in a full stadium are very slim. Health officials are going to be very cautious for a good while of a second round of the virus in the fall.

Trey Sermon announced he will use his graduate transfer year as Buckeye. Big get for the Bucks with their current RB situation

Nice addition for Ohio state especially at that position. Works out perfectly as he will only be here one year, can make an impact, and won’t cause any impact on future RB targets.

Maybe to start but as this goes forward I can see the games in mid-late Sept and on, being played with crowds. Everything being reported is that this crisis will not continue for another 4 months.
