The Galion-Lucas game will be interesting. For those who don't know, Galion's Coach's son plays for Lucas and is probably their best player. The rumor is that he wants to transfer to Galion next year but we'll see if that happens.

Never seen a Friday night road game and a Saturday noon start road game before. Gonna be some tired boys but that's the advantage of being young. It would kill me.

Norwalk-65 Ontario-45 final Norwalk didn’t miss in the second half. That score surprises me. You aren't the only one. We haven't won many non-league games and O-rena tough to win, especially on a Tues Night. I think 57 game winning streak would agree with me.

Galion might not win a game the rest of the season
Ontario, Lucas, Marion Pleasant, Shelby, Crestline and Mansfield St. Peter's still to play.

Norwalk-65 Ontario-45 final Norwalk didn’t miss in the second half. They didn't miss many in the first half. 3 minutes into this game I knew Norwalk was going to win. Norwalk was draining 3-pointers like they were layups and Ontario wasn't hitting theirs. Making baskets, as is missing, is contagious. Shaver didn't have a point in the first half. Norwalk is a MUCH more physical team than skinny Ontario. Their 200#+ inside players had their way with Ontario's 150-160# inside players. Also helping Norwalk to a big advantage on the boards. Norwalk's man defense was also much more physical than Ontario's. The way high school games are called these days, it's a big advantage to have a good football team. Ontario won JV game, Norwalk the Frosh game

It's not that same as being there but on tv Ontario looked like a tired team. Norwalk was getting open shots for most of the night. The point difference from the 3 point line was 3 shots. This doesn't make up a 20 point win but it happens with both teams taking almost the same number of shots. Norwalk just had more inside the line. Glad the officials were not a factor in this game.

Seneca East may not have a good record but they do have some athletes with nice size. That combo and give a scorer problems. From what I have seen at Galion the last few seasons was the previous coach let the team become singular in it's offense. The new coach is trying to use that singular scoring threat but incorporate others for a future benefit. In other words, build a program instead of a career stat sheet. No offense intended. Just an observation.

I agree with what you're saying about the offense but our defense is just as bad if not worse.

When the focus is to get a single player a career offensive stat, there is little time for defense.

I'm just letting everybody know that I will be going for a 2-game win streak in the 50/50 raffle this Friday at the Shelby vs. Ashland contest. You all better pray that I don't win because I will be even more unbearable than usual if I win this.

Whose focus are you saying is on getting that stat? Alsip? The coach? Or the whole team? Pick one or all three I don't care. The at time coach said in an interview that he was coaching the future all time leading scorer for Galion history. So he could be a safe pick.

The use of percentages can be misleading depending on the number of shots. Going 4 for 8 is 50% but if you go 6 for 16 you can win shooting 37%. Take better shots.

BOTH teams took 12 shots in the 4th quarter. Norwalk made 8, Ontario made 3...do the math. "Facts are stubborn things"
Making 33% of 3-pointers scores the same points as making 50% of 2 pointers.
Ontario beat Clear Fork handily twice this year by taking the same kind of shots they took against Norwalk.

I think it is likely a common occurrence for teams in this area to be flabbergasted when another makes an uncharacteristically high amount of three pointers in a game. It can definitely throw off the tempo. I remember my junior year in high school, Shelby won the NOL in a three-way tie, going 10-4 in league play. Shelby went 4-0 against the other co-leaders, Tiffin and Bellevue, but lost twice to Galion who went 5-9 in league play. In each of those two games against Galion, the Tigers had a pair of Nicholls cousins who combined for 6 or 7 three pointers. Those types of performances bite a lot harder than others from my experience.

In this game that you speak of, Norwalk at Ontario, the Truckers took wide open shots and the Warriors were being contested from 23 feet. This was the reason for the shooting difference.

It is a different shot when there is a hand in your face. Clear Fork does not play defense.

I could have said 33.34%, but I didn't want to tax your mathematical senses. You haven't watched enough Ontario basketball. Their 3-point shooters have had considerable success this year with "a hand in your face". Even if there's no one within 3 feet of a 3-point shooter, how many make 7 out of 7 in a game? Like Norwalk's PG, who doesn't average double figures, did in this game. Abnormal shooting occurrences by both teams. With that being said, a dependence on 3-pointers can be problematic at any level.

Shooting 50% going 10/20 and shooting 36% going 14/39 can make a big difference even if a team shot well.
