He could do the Dials thing and hope for playing time in a good situation like Nick had. Once he got on the court people knew he was a legit D1 guard.

Doesn't Spire Academy play a high school schedule? I wouldn't see that as an option if he feels he is ready for college and has the grades to do so. They played Mansfield last season.

If he is hell bent on a DI school, prep is not that bad of an option. He won't lose a year of eligibility, can take college classes, and maybe get in a good strength training program and put on a few good pounds. He might even grow a little bit, which could open up some windows if schools want him to play the 2. I think the kid is a hell of a player, and I hope the best for him.

Not just DI, he or his handlers are looking for a Power 5 Conference scholarship. Didn't he have an offer from Oakland U.?

Oakland showed some interest (Coach Kampe attended Sandusky's game at Clyde) but I don't believe they ever offered. Spire's post grad team from this past season had at least 5 players sign with D1 programs (Dayton, Duquesne, Toledo, Central Michigan, Oakland). Not from power five conferences, but still legit D1's.

As far as I know, none are walk-ons. Does that mean you know they have scholarships or you don't know about any of their offers? Here's what I know> Zimife Nwokeji to Dayton (signed LOI and enrolled in January according to UD) Chad Baker to Duquesne (signed LOI this spring with Duquesne) Raheim Moss to Toledo (signed LOI per UT) Phil Joseph to Oakland (signed LOI this spring per OU) Aundre Polk to Central Michigan. Haven't seen that CMU has announced their spring signees aIthough recruiting sites and CMU Life indicated that he has signed an LOI with Central. When I mention that they've signed an LOI, they'll be there on a scholarship. Didn't realize that I'd made this confusing. Just curious, why the questions about walk-ons?

It was just a question of curiosity. I have known some kids with big dreams to take the prep school route to get an extra year of play and solid lifting and then walk on at the D1 school to try and earn a scholarship. I wasn't implying you didn't know your stuff I was just curious for a little more info. That's all.

I would expect an offer from Dayton would make him happy. Not Power 5 but good coverage right now.

Canisuius is a DI basketball school, thus they MUST give full rides. DI's are not allowed to give partials.
