How close is Alsip to catching Nate? Any Galion faithful know. I remember hearing he had a chance to catch him this year. Is it still possible?

I think he needs to average around 32 ppg the rest of the season to pass him. I'm not sure of the exact number because I don't know how many he scored against Seneca East.

He has 6 games left. More if they can win a tournament game. If gt1975 is correct he will probably end up somewhere between 1500-1600 for a career but over 100 short of Nate. When it's over this kid's Tiger teams may have won only 23 times in his 4 years. Makes a guy wonder if some kids would rather have career wins or career points if they had the choice.

He had 1,114 pts coming into this season. According to the MOAC site he has 330 this season, not including the Ontario or SE game. He scored 39 vs Ontario, that would put him at 369 for the season and 1,483 for his career. Which means he needs 220 over the last 6 plus the SE game (don't know how many he scored), therefore 7 games. That means he needs 31.4 counting the SE game to pass Nate. Is my math correct?

Really good player. I am sure he wish he won more.

25 vs Seneca East. At 1508, needs 32 1/3 pg (to tie) with no tournament victories. He has "only" passed that number 6 times in his career. The 4 points scored in the final two games last year are going to be tough to overcome.

Small chance he gets it at this point but he is in a very small group that has gone over the 1,000 point mark for Galion.

Thanks for the info. I agree he is a great athlete and an amazing individual accomplishment. Hats off to the young man. I remember back in Nates day the Galion offense ran a ton of sets to get him looks. Plus he was on of the deadliest 15 foot jump shooters I had ever seen. Three point line was only a few years in and a novelty but he could stroke from that range too.

Only had 12 tonight against Pleasant. Didn't shoot very well tonight. He will need some monster games with only five games left.

Here is an update on Alsip's scoring. After last night's game against Crestline. Alsip scored 23 which gives him 469 pts. With at least two games remain he is 119 pts behind. If he plays two game he has to average almost 60 pts and if he plays three games 40. It will be very difficult to catch Nate unless he has two 40 pt games and then make it to a third game and score another 40 to tie.

Alsip had 20 last night at St. Peter's, finally got it under 100. Needs 99 to tie. Unless Galion makes a late tournament run he will end up short. Three bad games hurt his chances. Clear Fork with no points, Ontario with 4 points and Ontario with 8 points this year.

Scored 26 last night which gave him 515 total points for the year and a total 1629 for a career, 73 points short. Good career but just didn't win many games

Scored 26 last night which gave him 515 total points for the year and a total 1629 for a career, 73 points short. Good career but just didn't win many games After watching many kids play this sport, I always wonder if the kid would trade 200 of those 515 point for 10 wins? He obviously averaged over 22 a game. If he played in every game of his career he was somewhere around 18 a game and had 21 wins against 71 losses. Would he be happier to average 10 a game to go 58-34 in those same games? The answers to these questions do not matter.
