turn it around and the city of bellevue wants to burn down norwalk, imagine if the norwalk girl did this to the santoro girl. leaving the rest of her season in doubt. it changes the dynamics of bellevue team to where they may not get out of districts. now you'd be storming mad. steaming is what bellevue would be. and if norwalk showed no remorse, your entire town would be making this impossible for norwalk to breathe . Right. Here’s an article from a Bellevue loss last season. Read the coach’s comments to get an idea of what he’s all about. sanduskyregister.com/news/5913/frustrating-finish-to-bellevues-season/[/Anyone that understands sports and has dealt with the Santoro from a athletic standpoint knows the dad is an arrogant a..hole. I have seen it many times, kicked out of basketball leagues, ejected from games, etc, he has earned the reputation from his antics, it looks like it has filtered down the genetic timeline. Players actions are a result of coaching influences the least he can do is apologize, but he is too good for that

so they’ll take it out in Sandusky ? Big deal. I never wish bad things on high school teams. But I think there were a lot of Shelby fans tonight. Karma Yeah, they will beat Sandusky bad, let’s just hope they stick to playing basketball Not likely. A lot of things can and do happen in the course of athletic events ... some by accident ... some things happen because of the way players are taught. What happened in the video ... was not an accident. It can’t be a coincidence in talking to different players ... past and present ... what they have had happen to them or have seen on the floor while playing. I don’t buy the excuse ... “Oh they are just pi55y because they lost to Bellevue”. I hope that after watching the video ... the officials watch the Lady Red with much more scrutiny.

It’s interesting being around sports all my life, how some people perceptions of “successsful families” is.
The act was bad, but what do they “Santoro’s” or any family owe anyone... winning isn’t always pretty and success isn’t gained by always being the nice guy or girl.

I disagree. You can be kind and still come out on top financially and athletically. In fact it's a whole lot more fun.

Only reached out because of social media scrutiny, almost 5 days later. A bullshit apology to save face. I would be more impressed if dad would sit her for the Sandusky game. That is what she should have gotten for being ejected.

If the Ward’s can accept the apology then that’s all that matters.

Yes, it's between the two families, I agree too. I read on FB the Norwalk gals fathers' request to please "move on" and "put this behind them and leave the other family alone." It sounds like the two families are going to meet in person so the apologies can be in person as well.

I agree. It is time to move on and stop calling for the heads of others. Maybe we should close this one down and move on to tournament talk.

Big city recruiting and/or open enrollment and catholic schools have an advantage over rural area schools more cases than not. You have to have a dream team To win state.

This whole thing would have never grown to National attention had the coach/dad did what was right from the beginning. Most anyone who follows are high school sports had heard about this by 6 Pm on Saturday so certainly dad/coach new EXACTLY what happened too. As the leader of the Bellevue Program and father of the player committing the foul he needed to act quickly and do the right thing (what would have happened if it was caught by the officials i.e. 2 games) Because he waited until this reached national attention, he brought additional attention on his daughter, team, community etc. etc. etc. You can forgive the student athlete for making that mistake at a young age even though you dont see it often, What you dont see often is leaders of programs (coaches) and leaders of families (fathers) allow that to happen without proper and swift punishment.

She got 1 game because she's the coaches kid, Anybody else would've been longer. Personally, I think it should have the rest of this season. I've seen the video. She did grab the girl's hair, she just didn't let go when the Norwalk player tried to knock her down. Instant Karma's gonna get you . Gonna knock you off your feet. I don't think she should have been suspended even one game.

^^^^^^^ Exactly crimson5. This comment and several others on the other thread that said it wasn't wrong or the girl flopped are just complete idiots! Sad that most of these morons actually reproduced and put offspring into this world. Anyone that thinks it was no big deal or the Norwalk player flopped or other teams accuse them of this because they are jealous, are the biggest A-holes on this site.
Both schools moved on, why put something stupid on here like his post. Just plain sick in the head!

And we know this because: He didn't contact all of you or He didn't make a public statement. I don't think action on this could have been make any quicker. The coach, whether daughter or not, had to see if the OHSAA was going to weigh in and if his administration was going to make a move. And I don't believe this is the type of thing that the media wasn't going to run with no matter if a public apology, public statement of punishment or any other action was swiftly made. All this talk of doing something faster is nonsense. There are many moving pieces that gets involved in this type of situation. Any way you look at it, it's done and adults must move on.

Falcon just know that there are some folks who didn't judge prematurely when this all went down. Unfortunately there are--a number of people who are insanely jealous of the Santoro's and the success they have had. If you can't beat em,,talk about em and talk sheet about em,,even if only half true and uniformed. It's the world we live in. This comes from a fierce rival btw.

^^^^^^^ Exactly crimson5. This comment and several others on the other thread that said it wasn't wrong or the girl flopped ... I didn't say the girl from Norwalk flopped. She clearly got yanked off her feet. The Norwalk player "boxed out" the Bellevue player forcefully enough to displace her 2 1/2 - 3 feet. But first, the Bellevue girl grabbed the other's hair, and when she go shoved she didn't let go. All the force came from the action of the Norwalk player. I'm not from Bellevue, and I don't know any of the players or coaches involved from either school. Grabbing the hair was intentional, pulling her off her feet was not. It's pretty clear on video.
