like I said tho...they're a friend. we've been working together for 5 or 6 years now. they wanted to let me know before I heard from somebody else, even though they are not the official outlet for such news.
still sucks. means I'm out of a job until January unless I get another assignment before then, if we can host large events before next season starts. I won't have to reapply or compete for my job once we can reopen, and honestly I should be financially okay without working through the end of the year. unlike a lot of minor league teams and their employees who might not have another season; the clippers will eventually be back on the field.

Sorry to hear this. The ripple effect of all this is going to continue for awhile I fear.

any thoughts on how we would proceed with our season if the mlb goes to daily 30 active/20 non-active player rosters?
I mean...setting daily lineups with weekly transaction limits would be difficult to say the least. our "minor league" rostered players would have some skewed playing time that might force them onto an active roster while still playing in the minors next year.
and then we have the mlb proposal to expand their playoff format. would we follow suit?
thoughts?

I have no idea really. I figure I’ll start thinking about it when they decide something and SITH sends me texts to tell me I’m slacking

mlb owners scrapped the player proposition, said they won't counter. unless the players take the original offer, which pretty sure a lot of them did not like, we won't have american baseball this summer.

Rob Manfred is the worst commissioner from my (a fan's) perspective in my life time. This Poop is a total farce. Bunch of money-grubbing pigfucks.
Selig was kind of a dipshit too but at least he actually LIKED baseball. I wish we could get Adam Silver, who seems to be the only commissioner in the sports world who actually has a clue.
I know the commissioner is just there to make owners money so MLB owners probably loves Manfred the way NFL owners probably love Roger, but good lord man. If there is one sport that cannot afford to lose an ENTIRE YEAR it is MLB. Get something done. Players offering to play 114 games was a GODSEND to us fans.
****!

Looks pretty likely that we're heading for a 48 game regular season. Will be interesting to see what that looks like, as it would take a minimum of 8 weeks assuming 1 off day per week, with maybe the possibility of something around 10 weeks if they decide stretch it out a bit more.
Any thoughts what to do for the league? Some possible options:
1. Do this season only as a roto format. Would probably be the most fair option given the circumstances, though obviously would be a major change to not have a matchup based format.
2. Keep matchup based format, and taylor it the best we can to the number of weeks available. Some examples: - 8 weeks, 4 games vs. division, 3 games vs. other division. 1 week playoff between division champs - 9 weeks, 4 games vs. division, 4 games vs. other division. 1 week playoff between division champs - 9 weeks, double round robin vs. division, no interdivision play, 1 week playoff between division champs (1903-1968 World Series style) - 9 weeks, single round robin vs all teams, no divisions, no playoffs, champion determined by standings - 10 weeks, single round robin vs all teams, no divisions, top 2 teams play 1 week playoff (Big XII style) - 10 weeks, double round robin vs division, no interdivision play, 2 week championship (or maybe 4 team playoff with single weeks)

i am in favor of submitting keeper lists, having an active draft, having a minors draft, and then letting this season choke and die
Roll the pay-in over to next year and I can double-up when I win in 2021. Or one of you other clowns when you win. I dunno. It's doubtful altho South prob has a shot.
If we DO play though I would suggest we go ROTO for the Regular Season and (2) 1-week matchups for the playoffs.

or maybe just a minors draft and drag all this stuff into next year
so weird to think about actually prepping for a draft right now

I don't have a ton of faith in MLB or the PA for that matter. I would be in favor of holding our "drafts" as we typically would. With the caveats being rosters frozen, say a week or so after drafts are complete, unless games are actually played.
If there are games, we would have to dive into how many games/weeks are available. Roto reg season may be the way to go but we will have to see. Otherwise I have no problem with TORCH's suggestion of rolling entry fees over to next year and there be a "balloon" payout for that post season pot.

the way things are going i am thinking there will not be a season
might behoove us to just have our minors draft and just let the entire rosters roll over into next year
what a bummer
