Yeah me too. It's just bad timing when MLB has lost a lot of legitimacy with the Houston Astros organization and the juiced ball era. I don't want it to go the way of the NFL.

I get the feeling sometimes that MLB Owners don't really like Major League Baseball at all.

Looks like we might have a 60 game season over 66 days, starting July 24.

I reached out to South the other day (yesterday, maybe?) with my thoughts.
should probably start with a should we play this year? poll. if so, under what format?
but we need to decide soon in order to complete a potential draft by 7/20.
my big concerns are: how do we handle expanded rosters, taxi squads, daily roster settings, weekly transaction limits, "covid-related injury" listed players, minors demotions, and mlb service time to play this fbb season, and at the same time get it right?

With how this year is going, I can't really see myself getting into fantasy baseball. Too many variables with such a shortened season; I say we scrap it as well. We can wait and see as more news comes out(more teams have staff testing positive for COVID-19 which doesn't help) but we could just freeze rosters for next season.
A couple other options is just playing for free or playing for a reduced price since they are only playing 40% of games compared to a regular season. Either way it's more than likely gonna be a weird season

what a year
still have all the fall sports to try to cram in and oh btw a presidential election to boot...you in the head
2020 came in like a lion and she is going to leave like a crazy baby mama. I'm just about ready to strike out for Galt's Gulch and get one of the good lots.

I was waiting for a poll before saying anything, but with all of the uncertainties, weird rosters, players opting out, and least of all the covid in the air I'm okay with sitting back and waiting to resume our league next spring. not really okay with it, in fact I don't like it at all, but it is probably for the best.

I'm in a the scrap this season camp. Personally I put the odds at 50/50 or worse that the season gets completed. I'd like to see us open up for trades and drafts, then freeze trannies until Feb. Just my 2 cents

Yeah, I'm in the same boat.
I think we all are kind of in agreement that maybe we should just shoot for next year. I'll throw an official vote out on it at some point.
I am open to potentially opening rosters for trading for a period of time, but I haven't thought too much about ramifications.
Maybe an abbreviated schedule of: Trading Open(no adds, no drops until 2021) Minors Draft Active Draft-beginning of MLB Playoffs Trading Closed (Roster Lock)-end of MLB PLayoffs Keepers Due(Feb 2021)

Just a few days in and at least 1 game postponed due to a potential outbreak on a team. I just don't see how the whole shortened season gets completed.

Yeah, pretty shittay but it is what it is.
I get a tear in my eye every time I see one of my guys hit a HR.
Anyone thought much about opening rosters up for transactions and trades?
Think like the sleazy owners you are and look for shortcuts/ways to potentially game the system so I can address them as commissioner for the loopholes that they truly are.

I'm down to open of rosters and transactions for a period of time. Even running an "active" draft...similar to a draft & hold type league set up. For example: - open trading of assets(players/picks) for a TBD amount of time.
- draft full active rosters
- draft minors draft
- close transactions during or after draft completion
That could allow time if an owner wants to demote/promote players to prep for next year. We would probably have to come to some type of agreement on handling mandatory promotions...maybe grandfathered another year. I don't know...just spit balling that one.

watching the LAD get Mookie reps at 2nd base so I can start him at the keystone in 2021 is the best thing that has happened in 2020 so far

Being the degenerate that I am, I got in redraft league for $ this year. Went 7-0 in the regular season. Won the semi final week. Lost in the finals. F off 2020.

I play 1 redraft and a keeper league on top of this one. Both played but it was a pain in the *** with keeping a full lineup. One I finished dead last and the other missed the playoffs on the last day from 1 category. It all sucked

At least you guys are keeping current with what players are doing this year. I haven't even looked at any stats/a game this year. 2021 is going to be rough.
