NCAC (D3) have canceled their season. OAC has not canceled as of yet. Dominoes are falling in Ohio. When does the NCAC plan to announce this?

Sad to hear. I can't help but wonder if some of these smaller schools were struggling to get students back on campus and would have been putting out a less than normal product in sports and that factored into the decision.

There are Denison kids that are discussing taking a gap year. My son was talking to some guys he knows that are still there. $60,000 to take on line classes. Even if the NCAA gives everyone another year of eligibility who is going to come back for another semester at that price if you already have enough credits to graduate?

Definitely could have been a factor. Also the NCAC has schools in multiple states which complicates things.

I have a friend whose daughter was accepted at Ohio State's main campus. Freshman MUST live in a dorm and MUST take their classes on line from their room. It's all about the money.

Fairfield county (pickerington HS etc) health department issued a recommendation to all county school’s to start the year with virtual learning and to end fall sports.
I would be shocked if much football gets played in Ohio this year. I’d be more surprised if in person learning took place for more than a few weeks at a time between outbreaks. The really sad part is that this was largely avoidable if people just sacrificed a little bit for each other. Wear a mask wash your hands keep your distance and be mindful of what you are doing. It’s not hard but for whatever reason these simple things are a bridge to far in America.

I’m not saying it’s a valid reason, but some people might be distrustful of a government that told them masks won’t help so the government could buy them all up then told them later that they can’t leave the house without one. You kinda have to expect some push back.

You kinda have to expect some push back. Then, when the government did a 180 and said you should wear a mask, and surgical masks were still not readily available, they said you could make one out of an old T-shirt, wear a bandanna or a scarf, ANYTHING was ok as long as your face is covered. Now some of them are saying that if everyone would wear a mask and follow the social distancing rules, this thing can be stopped in 4-6 weeks. What if they had said that at the beginning about covering your face with homemade masks when everyone was still scared to death about this, and would have done that and the other things willingly also? Does that mean that if Fauci and the others hadn't lied, would this thing be over now???

just think about this.if we had a communist government or a nazi government,we would have a total diaster and be a under a total lockdown,so things could be worse.we need to cooperate with each other and try to pull out of this without arguing!!!

Agreed, but I am disappointed at the government’s lack of confidence in US citizens. I believe most people would have tied bandannas around their faces if the government had asked them to so N95’s could be purchased for health care workers and first responders. We collected scrap metal during WWII when asked. I’m 49 and I’ve unfortunately lived in an era where government has largely failed us. Every election I’ve been eligible to vote in I had to pick the lesser of two evils and it’s getting worse. You could pitch this election to Hollywood as a comedy. Spray tanned narcissist former reality star versus a demented 77 year old pedophile who can’t complete a coherent sentence. It writes itself.

I think people by and large would have done those things, and if they did, we might not be in the situation now. I would assume we would be in better shape.

This is why so many don’t even bother to vote anymore. I have no idea which way I’m going to vote. I don’t like either one of them.

Agree. I have been wearing a mask since this started, and I have been called many things, snickered at, and made to feel like that I am a paranoid hoax believing liberal who is gullible to evil forces of the world. Many of those people are not snickering now, since we may lose our season.
As for the election, my choice is between two clowns. I will look at the people around them, their positions on the issues, etc which will influence my choice.

If you don't go anywhere you don't have to worry about wearing a mask.
The "experts" say it's safer outside than inside. Everyone is supposed to wear masks inside at work. Why in the heck are all the talking heads in a TV studio not wearing masks? OH...they have to look pretty and handsome on TV. A good reason NOT to wear a mask. However, I have not seen "good looks" as an exception on any government Covid-19 declaration. THEY talk about certain politicians not setting a good example when they don't wear masks. Why don't THEY set good example and wear them while broadcasting the news or spouting political commentary? Can anyone say HYPOCRITES??

When it does happen it’s almost always at night. Air movement it critical. UV exposure is also a factor. Lowest risk activity is outside during the day. Outside at night a close second. All of this is best guess with current information. Can’t tell the players without a program.

Is there any chance those talking heads have a regular testing schedule? I know one reason why the Trump admin, including Fauci, appear without a mask so frequently when delivering messages to the press is because the collective group is tested as much as anyone in the country. If the MLB can afford to give tests every other day, maybe Fox News and CNN do it too. After all, those employees are the faces of the network, losing them would be detrimental to ratings since you don't have your #1s out there. I would view it as an added-insurance policy if I were a business, since you could very well be insuring yourselves from losing ratings due to pulled anchors.

Many are predicting the hammer is coming this week from the Gov either canceling fall but they are hoping for a delay. And all the while the OHSAA is promoting business as usual even though they are very much involved with the Gov office.
