Week 2 - Swanton, Delta, Fostoria, Fremont Ross, Tiffin Columbian, Bryan
Week 3 - Northview, Swanton, Southview, Clyde, Whitmer, Bowling Green
Week 4 - Port Clinton, Gilmour Academy, Johnstown Northridge, Tiffin Columbian, Huron, Oak Harbor

CC as a contact sport. What a joke. The only thing that comes to mind are those big groups at the beginning of each race, presumably after everyone has finished warming up and may be breathing more heavily. I think dual and tri meets could handle it but once you get bigger than that I'm sure there are concerns. Even in track, those bullpens can get crowded for a relay race. I don't know how the Tiffin Carnival race could be done effectively if the one of the tasks is to mitigate crowding. It would help that no out-of-state competition would come into town. Yes big meets would not happen. However small invites with less than 80 runners definitely can. Cross country runners don't mind running small meets all year if that means they get to compete.

I could see Tiffin Columbian in week 2 trying to play Fostoria. They play Fremont Ross Week 1 but I wouldn't be surprised if they played each other twice. Week 3 Clyde would probably aim to get BG first then either of the Sylvania schools.

This pretty much shuts the door on the season. Who’s going to foot the bill for all those tests?

Where the press release from ODH? Don't see anything on their web site. Don't see anything on OHSAA website.

First this is not a new rule..this was the rule in place in early July intended for basketball. If this rule stays in place then yes it will be hard to play football. Which I have said from day one what is what they will do. Ohio will never cancel high school football, but they will make it darn near impossible to play with regulations. It’s coming.

Symptomatic or sick enough to admit? Sick enough they went to hospital but were released and quarantined some up to 21 days. Not common for longer periods of feeling ill, but still down and out However the poster didn't mention if they only meant admitted

I just wanted everyone to be clear. “Sick” is not a very specific term. There are illnesses that occur commonly that take an athlete out for 1-2 weeks (strep, flu, mono). I suspect of your sample many would not have been out the full time based on how they felt, but were out as long as they were due to concerns about them giving it to someone else.

I'm thinking we may have a few hospital workers on this site. Can you answer what the overwhelming capacity of your hospitals are right now during this horrifying medical emergency.

I am going to be honest.. the early ones like in March and April were sent home but that was also when local hospitals were sending people who might now have been admitted home to save room for more severe cases so to speak. However, I do not know how sick they were per se. I do know there were some positives in the HS age range. But to my knowledge, the young folks haven't been so bad to the point of admittance or even ICU. I cannot speak for all of the cases that have been in local hospitals. I do however, think that your hybrid start idea for schools is the way to go fan. Hope your local school asked for your opinion to be honest. I think you have a solid perspective on this

Erie County health commissioner Pete Schade is meeting with all Erie County superintendents today and requiring that all schools in Erie County start remote for the first nine weeks and that all fall sports should be canceled.

To clarify, not sure if Schade’s sports announcement is a requirement or a recommendation.

Also just heard that a bunch (about 20) of Bellevue’s football players are being quarantined (9 have tested positive) because they were in contact with a kid who contracted it while on a traveling basketball team. Bellevue is going to switch from a 100% return to a hybrid model now.

"Update, 3 p.m. Schools will be opting out of in-person learning, for now, the Erie County Health Department announced.
"We've got to get a handle on stopping this virus," county health Commissioner Pete Schade said. "This is a good decision for the community."
Schade said he met with school superintendents this afternoon and reviewed the data on infections. There are 212 recent confirmed infections that involve students and school personnel, he said."

Interesting. Looking at today's updated numbers from ODH shows 32 positive cases in Erie County in the 0-19 age group. Must be quite a lag in the reporting.

what will be interesting is when president trump comes to clyde and someone mentions to trump about that pete shade says schools will be opting out of in person learning for now what trump would say about pulling school funds for that.if that is mandated then i see more lawsuits coming against shade and the health dept.
