Wrong, in the case of Ohio State. 87% of season tickets have been renewed, BUT that does not mean all will be granted, due to reduced attendance requirements at Ohio State. Renew or never get them back - Many people have season tickets and only attend a few if any games. Ahhh, but dude said people would not renew....just pointing out the errors of his ways.

College football will announce attendance cuts but in reality there will already be an amount of fans that will not be looking for tickets this season because of their own fears. It is easier for colleges to announce cuts than to have the seats half empty because nobody wants to be there. Your wrong, If Ohio State had a game tomorrow the stadium would full and scalpers out selling. There thousands of people that want tickets and can't ever get them. What I’m saying is there are thousands of people who normally go to games and Go to tailgating that will not this year due to age, underlying conditions and because of fear. There will be others that have always wanted to go that won’t because of the same reasons.

Renew or never get them back - Many people have season tickets and only attend a few if any games. This is exactly right. I never mentioned the season ticket holders. They will purchase them to not loose them. I was speaking of general attendance.

I will put money down that they COULD sell out Ohio Stadium for every game regardless of COVID. There are so many alumni they can’t get tickets that want them.

We may not be discussing the same thing. I would bet every ticket available will get sold. I’m saying that every ticket sold will not be used as some people will still believe the fear of sitting directly beside some stranger.

I get what you’re saying. I’m saying the only way Ohio Stadium isn’t full next year is if the tickets don’t get into the right fans’ hands or if Ohio State chooses not to sell them all n

Understood. And I’m saying there is a large portion of game regulars that are higher in age or just will still have the fear of sitting close. I would not be surprised if class enrollment is down as well.

This is the high school forum, not Ohio State.

I think that how THE OSU handle their games will be extremely relevant to how Ohio high schools handle theirs.
Easiest system at the Shoe is allow each ticket to view one quarter. Clear stadium, enter next 1/4 😀

Immediate family of the travel team and limited students and long time season ticket holders for the home teams.

Big time AAU is pushing hard for the opening of full contact events in the state of Ohio. They are trying to salvage some for of spring basketball before Football kicks into full swing. This may determine or at least have impact on the fall seasons but as long as AAU programs can run a tournament or two and get some income they do not care what will happen in the fall.

I don't know about everyone else, but for me, a game WITHOUT a band would be very welcome. I know it's fun for the kids in the band, but I find it extremely boring. I've talked to lots of fans who feel the same.

I've talked to lots of fans who feel the same. What are you talking about? There is nothing better week 1 then having your band play the fight song as your team runs on the field, or the playing of the National Anthem. If you don't want to sit through the half time show I guess find something else to do, but a High School football game without the band would just be a little less fun. I don't think I have ever heard anyone say "man wish the band didn't show up tonight". What a strange thing to say.

Ever wonder why the concession stands and restroom lines are so full at halftime?? *HINT* Because almost everyone I talk to finds high school football halftime marching band shows extremely boring!! Especially the Perkins band....same thing EVERY week....<------.....(if I had a dollar for every time someone told me that, I'd be a rich man).....Unless, of course, you're an Edison High school band parent! Then you watch the halftime show....AND LEAVE!! LOL I DO like the band playing the National Anthem at the start, and the way the Pirate band comes over and plays in front of the student section the second half, but the halftime show I can do without.

I’ve been around HS football for half a century as a coach’s kid, admin’s kid and working in education myself. No doubt the game is the main draw but there are far more reasons people show beyond the game. Try being a spectator of the spectator while volunteering at games. The concession stand gets busy after halftime too.

I will be surprised if we have a season this year. Bucyrus just shut down it’s athletic workouts for two weeks due to the possible exposure of several athletes. Since Bucyrus City has three school systems in its borders, and Bucyrus schools sends numerous kids to both Wynford and Colonel Crawford, it is very likely these schools were exposed too.

Expect a lot of fall teams to take a shut down before Aug 1 to make sure everyone is good and healthy.
By the way, Vaccine testing has begun with positive early results.

If you believe otherwise then you're a bigger idiot than the politicians.

Richland County is thinking about mandating masks because we’re up to a whopping 391 total positive cases, 58 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths. Four motor vehicle deaths in Richland County YTD. The sky is falling.

It is easy to say that this is a hoax or media driven until it hits your home. Yes, politicians and the media are a bunch of lying scumbags in my opinion, but the virus is real. People need to take this seriously.

Dewine cancelled his normal Tuesday press conference, but has scheduled one today at 5:30 (they're normally at 2:00, which means now he'll reach a much larger audience). Most believe he is going to shut things down again. If true, that might be the nail in the fall sports season.

I highly doubt he closes things down before taking that step first.

Most believe he is going to shut things down again. If true, that might be the nail in the fall sports season. Not many were following his 2pm conferences and his ego likes the bigger stage. So 5:30 is prime news time so that makes sense. Also the latest order that included high school sports ends today so that also makes sense to see it moved.

It is possible that everyone knows of someone who has been touched by this virus either by a death or a hospitalization, but when the true numbers begin to come out and we see that many of those we lost would not have made it to July even without this virus, only then can we truly put it into perspective.
