Fantastic question. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world and he's 6'1 185 and he's a forward/midfielder

With an answer like that DrugMart loses more credibility. Ronaldo is a 35 year old MAN. A 6-1 190 14 year old will most likely mature to 6-3 220 by the time he's 35. NOT a soccer player. Where do the 240 to 340 linemen play in soccer? Where do the DEs, LBs and fullbacks go? There are usually around 15 of those kids on a foot1ball team. Those with an intellect or without their tongue stuck in the cheek, know there is room for football and soccer at high schools.

WF knows nothing about elite soccer all he knows is Ontario soccer which is not elite. He also doesn't know anything about the 0-11 Willard football team. Elite soccer players are not 5'5 like he has proclaimed on here, that's Ontario soccer which is weak sauce. Once Willard disbands the football team, then the soccer team will be elite and be routing Ontario 24-0 on the regular.
USA National team David Bingham 6'2 180 Alex Bono 6'3 190 Brad Guzan 6'4 210 Bill Hamad 6'3 225 Ethan Horvath 6'3 180 Sean Johnson 6'4 220 Luis Robles 6'1 190 Zack Steffen 6'3 180 Gale Agbossoumonde 6'2 190 Ventura Alvarado 6'0 180 Steve Bimbaum 6'2 180 Geoff Cameron 6'3 180 Edgar Castillo 5'9 160 Timmy Chandler 5'9 160 Eric Lichaj 5'11 175 Nick Lima 5'9 160 Daniel Lovitz 5'10 170 Drew Moor 6'0 170 Alfredo Morales 6'0 170 Justin Morrow 5'8 165 Michael Orozco 5'11 170 Tim Ream 6'1 185 Eric Alexander 6'1 180 Michael Bradley 6'2 175
What's the typical Willard DB? 5'9 150 What's the typical Willard LB? 5'9 170 What's the typical Willard WR? 5'10 150 What's the typical Willard RB? 5'9 165 Those guys are better off playing soccer than football.
I've even seen Willard football teams with O-linemen and D-linemen being 5'10 180 and zero linemen over 200 (this was back before we, the elite brass of Willard sabotaged the Football program). Those linemen would have made great soccer players. I took note.
6'1 190 is perfect for soccer, WF is peeing his pants right now scared that Willard is going to be slaughtering his weak sauce Warriors soccer team 24-0 in the future. Soccer is not for 5'5 135 like he thinks it is, that's Ontario soccer. Willard soccer players are going avg 6'1 185 and be ripped like Cristiano Ronaldo, we are going to own Ohio Soccer. Greatest dynasty ever in the history of any sport.

Dudette, is nothing more than a prevaricator who can't read. Was a specific school mentioned? 15 guys in total of 240-340 linemen AND DEs, LBs, Fullbacks. Couldn't go to football games this year, but last year Ontario had 17 kids at 200 or bigger. The program I'm looking at was for a game against River Valley, they had 21 kids 200 or bigger.

Greatest dynasty ever in the history of any sport. Only a fool compares the US National team to Willard's below average DIII high school soccer team. This year Riverdale won the DIII North-West District Soccer Championship. They have a football team, that finished 4-2 in their league and 4-4 overall. The 1, 3 and 4 seeds in that District were Ada, Bluffton and Van Buren. All who have good football teams. There IS room for football and soccer, even at itsy-bitsy schools. Doesn't Willard have a youth soccer program? Where kids start playing soccer in the 1st grade. That's when you get them to play soccer instead of football. Why would the kids on the football team you'd like to see playing soccer, not already be playing soccer? If those kids don't want to play soccer now why wouldn't they choose to play golf, tennis or run cross country if there was no football team? Willard has never had anyone "typical" on their football team that was taller than 5'9 and weighed more than 160?? BTW, Ontario's Soph 1st team All-Ohio Soccer player who's 6-2 165, would make a heck of a QB, but chooses to play soccer. I wouldn't think of making him do something he didn't want to do. Just as I wouldn't want to make this years 1st team All-League QB play a sport he doesn't want to play. Sorry to be logical and factual compared to nonsensical. But thanks for playin'. As I knew I could, since it's kinda boring these days.

I chuckled about 24-0 beatdown prediction against Ontario. Insane, but funny.

The issue isn't the Bay, it is in the feeder system. Willard doesn't take football serious, otherwise they would fix the issues and it starts at the middle school level. There are tons of kids playin flag and TB and when they get to 7th and 8th the numbers drop by 90% by the time they hit 9th grade. I don't want to say it is all about the staff there but that is where I would look first. Norwalk has 80 kids playing in MS because they have a staff that is on the same page as the HS, no so much here in Willard.

It's clearly gonna take a special leader of the program to do it I agree there for sure. I also agree it starts below and keeping it going.

It strikes my how some people feel like because people put them in a leadership role, they automatically have leadership skills and should deliver. Most people now days just wade through live and don't have a clue on how to fix a system that has been broke for 10 years. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. It has become the norm to put in half efforts and it be accepted. Accountability is a lost requirement for jobs any more and when you have that special leader, by all means hold on to them. If I were in charge, I would wipe the slate clean and start fresh, what can it hurt, can't get much worse than 0-11.

They couldn't beat buckeye central, south central, Plymouth. This is one of the mindsets not only the boys but willard as a community suffers. They have the talent but as it's been said. 80% of them are in the bleachers on Friday nights. The only way to build this program is to 1 get all coaches from Jr high through high-school on same page. 2 get a head coach that will hold them all responsible. Get on his page or get out of the program. 3 a head coach that will be involved in all levels including thunder bolts. So kids and parents can see and believe he is invested in them. 4 willards off-season weights and conditioning blows. What kids do in the off-season makes their next season. 5 if the kids and parents respect and believe in a coach numbers will go up, attitudes will change. Then the program will change. Right now these kids are beat before 2 a day's start. Cause nobody believes in them. And saying they can't compete in the bay is a prime example. Good luck to whom ever gets this job cause you can be a great coach. But you are truly behind the 8 ball when it comes to everything besides football

I can tell you in Norwalk there aren't 80 in MS playing Football. Maybe 50. And I hate to say it, but this past season's 8th grade? Consistently beat by 40-50 points. My son was on that team, so very painful to endure.

Heck even Ontario had 50 in MS playing this year. They key is how many go out as Freshmen. THEN hopefully you can find a few Freshman games for them to play in, so they don't get discouraged standing on the sideline or having to play against Sophomores and Juniors in JV games.
