The University Presidents don't care about the general student population. They aren't high profile students, Big Ten football players are. The University Presidents are using football players as political pawns. The general student population is where they make their money, student athletes cost them money. It would not bother them a bit if football became far less important. The football players are worth $50+ million in income for the athletic department as such are enticed with scholarship, meals, housing, stipends and all the benefits that come with being an athlete at a major football school pushing you back to school because this is the year it is available to you. The regular students went to the trouble of paying their own way to jumping back in school with no more benefit this year than next year. The difference is like comparing being pushed from the cliff to jumping on your own from the cliff. If pushed you have a much better lawsuit than if you jump. Income from "football players" goes to the athletic department ONLY.....No money for President's salaries, no money for administrator salaries, no money for professor's salaries, no money for any other employees, no money for academics, no money for buildings or maintenance, no money for the general student population.

Now that it is being revealed that a vote was never taken from the university presidents, to suspend the football season, we now get a clearer picture what rookie Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren is all about. This man is all about personal power and lack of input and inclusiveness, when he conducts his business. Jim Delaney, he is not.

DeWine announces today that high school football will proceed. So basically everyone can play football except the Big Ten. Makes perfect sense.

Like how decisions are made in China? Who decided? Dr. Fauci himself. Or just Northwestern and Rutgers, to avoid 0-10? I did not realize we are this close to becoming a socialist state.

If there was never a vote, how did they report a 12-2 decision. Did that come from Warren and his staff wanting to take the fall off?

If it makes money for anything that means money is available for a lawsuit. An athletic scholarship at a big time school has more perks and benefits than any other scholarship so it’s pay

Not true. Football pays for all other sports AND the Ohio State intramural programs. They run at a slight deficit. They will lose a pile of money this year without football.

This rookie Big Ten Commissioner didn't conceal his pre-conceived thoughts against fall football, before any gathering of school administrators. We now know, this man is an administrative dictator and the conference is silently, falling in line, like good little sheep.
We are supposed to rejoice that news is filtering out the Big Ten offices, that there is a formulating plan for this 'spring' football. Smile when you say 'spring'. In reality, it is nothing of the sort. It's in the middle of dead bum bum winter!!!! Football in January?..... Really?
Commissioner Warren is overly concerned that no implemented measure of safety is good enough to play this fall, but he has no problem with players getting frostbite and playing on a frozen field surface, in unGodly conditions. Can you imagine playing in a 15 below, snowstorm in Minneapolis? What do you think the weather will be like in Wisconsin, Michigan or any of the other snowbelt states? I'm sure all the coaches and players are thrilled at the prospect.
I commend you Commissioner Warren, you are overwhelming us with your brilliant leadership!

Administrators promoting Spring football are a joke. All they're doing is trying to appease players, coaches and fans for their undemocratic decision. If they're afraid of playing football in September, why would their thoughts be different 4 months from now?? IMO, another political decision, not to play football starting in January, is even MORE likely after the election.

can you imagine playing games after a National Championship game has already been played? Lmao
there was no reason to make the decision to not play yet, what is the big rush?

Call it what it is......winter football. Wouldn't be quite as bad for the SEC, but craziness for the Big Ten.

The NCAA is in the process of F'ing Ohio State royally.
Remember, there is no guarantee the Big Ten Presidents will allow a winter/spring season. What is going to change between September and January??
The NCAA will allow Ohio State 5 hours of on field "drills"per week without pads, while the the ACC, SEC and Big 12 teams are allowed 20 hours of practice time per week with pads. THEN several more weeks of practice time for teams playing in a bowl game. The NCAA is going to allow another year of eligibility for ALL players, regardless of how many games a player plays this year. The ACC, SEC and Big 12 players could play at least 10 games. There is a good chance Ohio State players won't play any games this year.
This could set Ohio State football back several years, if not a decade. Other schools will have a roster full of players with at least 4 TIMES more hours of practice and 10 more games than Ohio Ohio State players this year.
IF there is a Big Ten winter/spring season it will be a joke as the teams only get 5 hours per week of on field drills leading up to the season.
AND don't kid yourself.....why would top recruits want to come to Ohio State when their players and team is so far behind players and teams from the ACC, SEC and Big 12? You know coaches will tell recruits...you don't want to go to Big Ten schools...just look how their league F'd them over.
ALSO consider this. The ACC, SEC and Big 12 will get their money from TV contracts and money from how ever many fans will be allowed in the stadiums. Plus bowl game money. Ohio State gets no money.

The inequity being allowed/enabled/promoted by the NCAA is unfathomable. No leadership from the NCAA and no leadership from the Big Ten. Time for Ohio State to be consulting legal counsel, if things can't be resolved through normal means, then let's go to court!

It could be tied up until next year with appeals

Quite often law suits are filed with the full understanding it will be withdrawn at some point in time. Democrats have used the court system as a political pawn for decades....lol
