I'm sure most of you are as surprised and shocked as I was, at the sudden firing and removal of popular OHSAA Director Jerry Snodgrass. All reports from athletic directors and administrators across the state, Jerry was doing a great job. The man was a relentless worker and communicated well with everyone.
I think the board of directors were at odds with Mr. Snodgrass, because he couldn't be manipulated and become their 'yes' man. As simple as that. What is rather suspicious of their motives, no reason was offered with their unexplained decision.
What are your thoughts?

I understand what was reported and have little doubt there was a contentious atmosphere, as was described. However, this is not the Jerry Snodgrass I know. He is a man of strong conviction, principles and a high energy base. I'm thinking perhaps a few of his staff members were not comfortable with a director willing to lead, or perhaps Jerry was not a very good delegator and a micro-manager to a fault. I wonder if he inherited the previous staff of Dan Ross, or was this his self appointed staff?

As a few have pointed out, he is great at dealing with the public, but perhaps doesn't manage people well behind the scenes. There's some staff turnover in an organization like that, but it mostly stays the same.

I question the wisdom of the board, voting to dump their director in the middle of a major crisis. Reading his interview, pretty insightful and passionate he is. Thinking perhaps they made a huge mistake.
