Did I hear that it will be family only. Does each player get a number of tickets? That's the way it sounds. Funny, high schools and the all other conferences have socially spaced crowds. Gonna ramp up the electronically produced crowd noise, to eliminate the scrimmage atmosphere. I can hear the O-H.......I-O ringing around the empty Ohio Stadium and parking won't be a problem. I wonder if this is being explained as a way to reduce the chance of infection. I'm okay with it since a majority of college football fans never buy a ticket anyway. Plus, we have learned over the last 6 months that when restrictions get made they can be relaxed very quickly.

They have over a month to change the attendance policy. It took them more than a month to get the season restated. Baby steps

We finally got the train back on the tracks and we need to put the anger and disgust behind us. Our initial goals and ambitions for the season are once again, a reality.
Win all 8 games, in convincing fashion, win the B1G Championship game and qualify for the playoffs. After dominating Clemson in virtually every statistic except the scoreboard, this team is living and breathing every breath, to get themselves the opportunity to avenge that horrible football injustice we experienced last year.

Another head scratcher from the Big Ten.
Practicing in pads can not begin until September 30. Two weeks after the announcement was given to allow play. September 30 is just 3 weeks before the first game. Big Ten teams have been practicing without pads 12 hours per week for the past 2 months. 20 hours of practice per week is what is allowed with pads. They need 2 more weeks at 12 hours without pads before they go to 20 hours per week with pads??

Why is it taking so long to announce schedules. They said Wed they had multiple models ready to go. This is when the TV networks make all the decisions. There are 2 networks wrangling for who gets who on what day at what time. They pay billions for the rights. ALSO there are 13 addition games in play for the networks when #2 plays #2, #3 plays #3 and so on, East vs Wes, after the regular season. ALL that must be hammered out between the networks before an announcement on schedules can be made.

A little off topic but anyone remember Tate Martell? I just saw where he opted out of the 2020 season. Not really sure what that exactly means for him but what a bust he has been in college.

The kid had amazing potential, but it was obvious, early on, that he was a flake. A questionable backup QB at Miami, already serving a one game, disciplinary suspension for God knows what. He did OSU a great favor by transferring out.

Tate just wasn't that good. Bummer. He was the #2 ranked dual threat qb when he came out, i was excited to see him.

Buckeyes host Nebraska on the 24th, at a nationwide telecast noon kickoff. Buckeyes at Penn State on the 30th.
Don't understand why they are meting out the schedule in increments. Just give us the whole damn schedule at once!

Pretty easy schedule overall for Ohio State other than Penn State and Michigan. Looks like a lot of blowouts for the Bucks.

IF the committee also considers Ohio State's schedule "pretty easy" they better have a lot of blowouts AND an undefeated season, or they won't make the playoffs if there are more than 4 undefeated teams, due to also playing fewer games.

I'm sure coach Day understands his team needs to win impressively, each and every week. Wonder how the polls will re-integrate the B1G teams in their polling? Will be interesting, though rather meaningless.

Sat, Oct 31 @ Penn State Sat, Nov 7 Rutgers Sat, Nov 14 @ Maryland Sat, Nov 21 Indiana Sat, Nov 28 @ Illinois Sat, Dec 5 @ Michigan State

Great year to start an 8 team playoff with the power 5 champions and 3 at large teams.

THE key to the season will be who is best prepared to play after only 3 weeks of practice in pads....Ohio State or Nebraska and Penn State?

Great year to start an 8 game playoff with the power 5 champions and 3 at large teams. Yes, for 5th through 8th. But there would be many more teams thinking they should be #8. When historically, there has only been one team disappointed they weren't the 4th team in.

Never been a proponent of dilluting the field, for mere accomodation sake. Let's just hope everyone gets through the season and League championships, without a hitch.

Apart from player & team preparedness, technical logistics and technical staff preparedness is going to take on an elevated role, unlike anytime in modern football history. Ohio State will indeed, enjoy a 'home field advantage'. Granted, the massive stadium will be fanless, but other, quite novel methods will be used to get our players pumped.
I have little doubt, the 250 member, 'The Pride of the Buckeyes' all brass band will be parked on the 50 yard line and make their presence known throughout the game. The high tech sound system will be up and rockin' and for added emphasis and effects, don't be surprised if there is pyrotechnics and aerial bombs deployed, lighting up the skys after every Buckeye score.
Rest assured, this won't be a quiet and subdued, scrimmage atmosphere, as some might be expecting. There will be much excitement generated, both on and off the field, but the fans won't be part of it this year.

Wont be at all surprised if B1G tries to somehow "regulate" some things like bands, fireworks, and loudness of piped-in crowd noise.
