i guess my favorite stadiums including parking(other than edison not playing favorite) would be don paul stadium in fremont, welcome stadium dayton(1974 norwalk state championship game)and ohio state(1985 or 86 cant remember which year my nephews senior season at margaretta which lost big to bishop hartley. my least favorites was findlay was because where we parked it was a long way to walk.ken dukes stadium in medina, you had to go thru one side of town to the other side swirling around. the stadium was ok,i thinkit was a margaretta-wayndedale playoff game when my nephew played in the mid 80s.i also was at a columbia at black river game and st.paul at black river which was like the pits(did stats for 95.3 fm on tape delay and st.paul@plymouth(the old mary fate park0 in which you went down the hill to get there(also kept stats on 95.3 tape delayed.i was at a norwalk@ galion game i like that stadium(also kept stats for 95.3)also was at a willard @upper sandusky game the place was ok(also did stats for 95.3 long time ago.ive lived in milan my whole life and has never been to whitney field for a flyer or trucker home game. AHHH....Mary Fate Field. That name in itself makes it unique. A few memories there. Even been there when the fog rolled in? I found it interesting that the play-by-play announcer would tell everyone, including the players, when a reverse play was being run, by announcing, "Here comes that reverse again." No locker rooms. At half time the teams had to climb the hill and the visiting team had to sit in their bus. When I was a player, I was attacked by the father of the QB as I sacked his son late in the first half. He knew I had to go up the hill and he was waiting for me, accusing me of purposely twisting his son's leg.

Worst stadium I’ve ever been in is Sparky Deblasio stadium in Euclid. I thought I was going to need a tetanus shot just from looking at the stands.
A school that has really nice facilities is Napoleon.

Shelby’s new stadium is great, but I loved Skile’s right downtown. It was falling apart.
Willard may have been good for fans because it was so close, but I had to assist an official who lost his MCL at a minimum because there was no room on the visitor’s side to get out of the way of a sweep around that end.
Sandusky was cool if you weren’t so far away from the action.
Norwalk in the NOL days was awful. It was always a swamp.
It’s better since the turf, but the crown on Madison’s field was so high from the sidelines you could only see the other team from the waist up. It was significantly downhill to run from the middle of the field to the sidelines.

Anyone know what if anything is planned for that location? I know flooding is an issue there. The school district gave it to the city so they wouldn’t need to maintain it. With all the stuff they’ve done downtown with Blackfork Commons there were rumors of a walking path with some stops along the way for outdoor “exercise.”

We had one locker room and Van Wert had another one across the gym. Really wierd pregame when you can look across at your opponent.

I know I'm going to sound ungrateful, but even with all the upgrades, Contractors Stadium at Whitney is still 2nd rate

Shelby’s new stadium is great, but I loved Skile’s right downtown. It was falling apart. I drove through Shelby a few weeks ago and it was kinda sad to see the old stadium has been torn down. Anyone know what if anything is planned for that location? I know flooding is an issue there. There shouldn't be any future plans besides the greenspace mentioned already. Besides upstream clutter on the Black Fork, a presumed cause for the worsening flooding was there were too many structures in that area that impeded the ground from absorbing rainwaters. I'm sure you've noticed over the past decade or so that the old middle school and the defunct Miami Systems building that sat in the area have been torn down. Besides the obvious curb appeal, it freed up a lot of square footage for rain to go into the ground instead of running off into the Black Fork. Even with the new Fire Department building there, it's probably 10% of the size that those other two buildings consumed. I doubt that concept played a significant role in Skiles' going away since it was a grass field. The main driver really did seem to be the structural concerns, and the right opportunities presented themselves to make a new complex at the high school feasible.

Dumps? Please explain your reasoning for such an inane comment as that. What's there to explain those places facilities and stadiums are bad. It's pretty self explanatory.

Evidently, then, some of us are not as "smart" as you. So, tell us, omnipotent one, what's wrong with, say for instance, Unkrich Stadium (Heise Park) in Galion.
If we hear nothing but "crickets" from you........then we'll all know that you (evidently) just like to shoot your mouth off and that you like to hide behind the anonymity of posting on this BB. Thanks for playing.....but we don't really need you.
