Yes, Sandusky skilled kids are good sized but I still say the SPEED difference was a much bigger factor than the height and overall size of skilled kids. As I said earlier, Sandusky put on a clinic on at Skiles field. Their D laid some good licks on Shelby WR and their tackling is solid...they hit and wrap. Their special teams speed changed field possession every time. They have very few holes in their game. They are what u would expect from a state ranked team...I came away very impressed. Looking forward to taking in the Sandusky vs Bellevue game next week.

Might as well say that game is for the NOL.

Sandusky's Alexander outplayed Armstrong and I think he is a better d1 prospect especially with his running ability. Sandusky's offense is tough because they have so many guys who can make plays. I watched some video and once again the officials were terrible but Sandusky is use to that. I was impressed with the brooks kid for Shelby. A big game next Friday.

Not sure that Alexander outplayed Armstrong as much as Sandusky's lines both sides of the ball outplayed Shelby's lines. One thing is for sure Redman better watch out!

Cant anyone comment on what worked and what didnt for the whippets or maybe what shelby needed to do to play with the streaks? Sandusky play well in secondary? My guess would be, get some faster/quicker athletes

If u take a bad angle against them...or don't maintain gap responsibility...a normal 3-5yd gain turns into 10+. If your secondary plays off of them they hit u with short stuff...if u play tight coverage they run right by u. Shelby had problems with all the above...it certainly wasn't just their line play that hurt them...

Blah, blah, blah the officiating was bad. Watch all the video then, instead of some of it. It wasn't isolated against one team, but had nothing at all to do with the outcome.

I have watched the entire game and yes it was isolated and has been isolated for years whenever Sandusky goes down there. On the opening kickoff, they called a block in the back and it wasn't even close to a block in the back. The officials didn't impact the outcome but they always try too.

On the opening kickoff, they called a block in the back and it wasn't even close to a block in the back. The officials didn't impact the outcome but they always try too. And the DB that put two forearms to the Shelby receivers head over the middle that didn't get called must have happened when you were looking in your popcorn bag. Calls were missed both ways. I tire of the implication that Shelby is full of racist rednecks. I've lived here for 16 years and have seen no more or less than I saw living in Cleveland, Columbus, southern Ohio, and South Carolina. Speed made a huge difference. When Devon got a seam that would get him 10-12 yards in previous weeks he got 2-3. Shelby DB's were giving 10-12 yard cushions which is why the slants worked so well. The o line could have done better run blocking. In their defense, the pass blocking was tough. Sandusky matched up on receivers one on one and rushed everyone else. It was usually 5 trying to block 6 minimum. Armstrong is a better QB. Sandusky's QB is more athletic. He one hopped a couple of passes on quick screens that Armstrong would have made, but when his pocket collapsed he almost always made a positive play out of it. Shelby's receivers needed to run sharper routes. You can negate speed, somewhat, with well run routes. They haven't needed to in previous weeks. This week they needed to. Sandusky will make some noise until they hit a team with a lot of tradition come playoff time. If Shelby rebounds mentally they have a good chance to win out.

I think both quarterbacks are good but Alexander outplayed Armstrong, but part of that is due to the pressure that Sandusky put on Armstrong. I remember Armstrong missing some passes high a few times. I think Alexander throws a better ball than Armstrong as far as his mechanics. Alexander had some great passes to receivers over the middle, Armstrongs ball floats in the air to long in my opinion. I think Alexander is a more elusive runner. If I had to pick a player tomorrow to be the qb, I pick Alexander but I am bias of course.
P.S. I do agree with the DB over the middle hits, I thought they should have been flagged. He is probably ejected in the NFL for it. I just know from personal experience over the years, I have witnessed numerous comments directed towards Sandusky fans and players. You can only tell your players to tolerate so much but they are still kids who have a breaking points.
