I would venture to say this might be the first year in a few, the buckeyes could roll the lions.

Our secondary looked bad tonight. Sevyn Banks looked lost and then Shaun Wade looked like he wasn’t even trying half the time.

Ron,
You can say that again. They need to make some major adjustments. Wade might as well opt out if that’s how he is going to play, hot cabbage right there.
Fields however is the real deal along with that offense. The running backs need to come along and get with the program more though. It’s tough to hold them to such a level Dobbins and the past has given us, but we can’t settle for anything less than the best.

That quite possibly may be the worst collection of defensive backs I've seen us put on the field since before Tressel.

Obviously losing 3 starters in the secondary is going to hurt, especially two that were first rounders. But man, they gotta be better if we go up against a team like Alabama or Clemson in the playoffs. And Wade needs to be a leader, he wasn’t that tonight.
But agree on the offense, they are tough. The running game could still be better but our wide receivers catch everything.

Galion,
You can say that again. I honestly hope things improve or we are going to have to outscore the likes of Bama and Clemson, if we even make it that far.
My big takeaway though, why didn’t we put Penn State away earlier. I just feel like we kept the pedal on the gas but didn’t push the issue as much as we could have. I also felt like we made a lot of mental mistakes (personal fouls) that helped out Penn State and kept their momentum alive.
The offense to me is also not quite at the elite level until the RB’s get in line with everyone else. Pray to god Fields stays one more year out of fear of getting drafted by a hot cabbage bath water NFL team, because he is making the argument for the best we’ve ever had at that spot. It’s a real shame the whole season wasn’t played this year.
I’m also impressed with my LB’s this game too. Hard hitting and appeared to put themselves in much better positions to make plays.

Teague clearly isn't all the way back from the achilles injury yet. I imagine that's why they are limiting his workload. On the bright side he seems to have fixed his ball security issues. Those other 2 backs simply aren't ready for prime time yet. The craziest thing is that Indiana might be the best team on our schedule.

Also keep in mind this is only week 2 the offense will improve. At this point though I'm not sure how much of our pass defense is a practice issue or a talent issue.

The end of the half fiasco was a bizarre mistake to make and it was annoying seeing 2 chip shot FG's missed, altogether those 3 plays cost us 9 points in the final spread.
Too bad that late INT return came up short of going the distance. PSU used to stand for Pick Six University due to the uncanny amount of those Ohio State has scored against them over the years, but now there's been a big gap since the last one.

I think it may just be lack of experience a bit. These guys were all high ranked coming out of high school, and a lot of them recruited by Coombs before he left for the NFL. I’m definitely concerned a bit, not for Big Ten but more for playoff games, but I think it’s just for lack of experience right now. Just my opinion.

I figured Sermon would come in and be a beast, he showed he was talented in the Big12, but that was the Big12.... let’s hope he turns it on.

I was impressed with the play of our OL and DL. The running game improved dramatically from week one to week two. Both backs ran well, early on. Garrett Wilson is unreal and he will be our key, going into the post season. In all, a solid performance, except the kicking game. 2nd half, we got very conservative offensively, relying on straight handoffs. This was a good win, with no major concerns, other than the status of Cam Brown's injury.

Give Penn St a little credit. Some of the catches were of the circus variety. Wade hasn't played like 1st round talent though. I think the Safeties had some good moments. As a group they'll get better as the season goes on. LB's played pretty well I thought as did our DL. Offense will continue to score a lot of points. It's pretty clear Fields either doesn't want to run or has been told not to run. He's too good of a passer though to risk getting him banged up for a 10-15 yard QB draw though like Urban used to do with JT. I would have liked to see Chambers get a few carries.
As a team I feel like we took a step forward other than the FG dept.
The end of the 1st half is on Fields. He has to know he needed to burn 2 seconds before taking a knee as the clock stops on 4th down.

Agreed about the DL and LB. Togiai was dominant, I think he ended up with 3 sacks. I’ve never been a big fan of Borland but I’ll give him credit, thought he played well last night. Seemed like he was everywhere.

All indications point to an ankle or achille injury for Cam Brown. Let's all hope it's an ankle.

Buckeyes secondary played better than most here are giving credit. They completely shutdown Penn St’s receivers in the first half. Penn St made adjustments at half that included using short crossing routes that eventually loosened up the outside. Wade looked disinterested for some reason in the 4th qt, which was very odd. Penn St isn’t recruiting bums like a certain school up north. Let’s not forget Ohio St had 2 corners selected in the top 19 of the draft. No school is not going to take a drop after that

THINK about it PLEASE. If wiscosin[sic] wins all their games against West Division teams they will have the best winning % in the West. This cancelation doesn't count as a loss. Nebraska WILL lose a game.
