You must have been in the latrine while Joe was on the field in the first quarter ripping Willard kids for responding to Plymouth's antics. Yes, racism applies to everyone. "Beaner", "Spic", and "Nigga" were heard numerous times from the mouths of the Big Red. BTW, Joe was on the field the entire game. Standing right next to the players. The AD was never on the playing field. Plenty of AD's spend the game somewhere along the sideline. You weren't close enough to hear what any player was saying. Stop making stuff up. Ok Einstein, the game film clearly shows the AD on the playing field midway thru the first quarter, as he counsels a player and the team after the ref stopped play due to a scuffle between players. I was absolutely close enough to hear every word he said, "threatening to shut down the game if this stuff continues". As for the racist comments, they were absolutely said, no need to make stuff up, no incentive for me to do so.

Crawford definitely was on the field talking to Willard #50 when the ref stopped play and said “you! Over here with me, now!” Crawford defused the situation and the game went on.

“you! Over here with me, now!” = counseling.

Very tough season. I have no animosity towards any of the coaches. It is a very diffucult situation. I do feel as a freshman my son lost a year of development. JV games were the only reps he and others got during the week. We will see if he goes out next year. Regardless we will continue to support the team and wish them the best.

I hope your son plays next year. I did see improvement in the team over the last 3 games, albeit the competition was inferior to the first 8 games. I think Cade deserves more time, he is young and learning. He was a much more vocal leader on the field over the past 2/3 games than previously. I think having Dad on the staff is a positive for Cade's confidence. The O-coordinator showed some signs of life as well. Willard will be talented at the skill positions next year....SBC leading rusher returning, SBC leading receiver returning, defensive secondary was very young this year and gained tons of experience, some good lineman return....point is the cupboard is not bare. Move that athletic wide receiver to QB, play your best athletes on both sides of the ball, recruit a kicker from the soccer team....we can be better next year, maybe not in the win/loss column but we can be more competitive.

"recruit" more basketball players to the football team.

Freshmen rarely are mature enough and talented enough to get "reps" in varsity games. Freshmen playing in JV games gain far more by competing against kids their level than getting their heads beat in by Juniors and Seniors. Of course parents of Freshman usually think their kids should be playing a lot on the varsity as opposed to wasting their time on the JV team....BTW, most "development" occurs in practices....if paying attention.

"recruit" more basketball players to the football team. That would help as well.

"recruit" more basketball players to the football team. No way we have had enough basketball players getting injured on a zero or a one win football season. Let them golf. Coach Haas had a good idea back in the day he did not want any basketball players playing football.

What's with this golf talk? There is only one sport that should be played in the fall in Willard, that is Soccer.
Soccer is the sport of champions Soccer is the sport for those with big balls Soccer is the sport of the World Soccer makes dreams come true Soccer is the greatest sport ever invented Soccer is where it's at
Friday Night Soccer in Willard is going to be a thing of beauty. I and the other top brass of Willard suggest a bonfire next Friday to burn all football equipment, a city-wide party, no masks, no social distancing, we are a family, we are Willard. We are a sleeping Soccer juggernaut. Do the masses agree to the bonfire? Let's get rid of this dead football program and bring life to the future, the Willard Crimson Flashes Soccer Program. A program on the verge of winning 12 straight State Titles, all it takes to achieve this 12 in a row is a bonfire next Friday to rid us of the skeleton in the closet, which is the dead football program.

4-9-1 does seem a little better than 0-11.

And they don't play anyone in soccer
DrugMart is looking for all those offensive and defensive linemen to improve the soccer program.

I snorted reading this, good work. It’s worth sifting through the concrete head posts here to wait for Drug Mart to arrive

Willard's enrollment isn't as large as it used to be. We do have a higher population of Hispanic kids who desire to play soccer instead of football. It's a unique situation I think. Has it hurt football, I'm sure to a degree. Was it the right move? To each his own.

In many schools the sport with success draws the bigger numbers. Every sport will always have their faithful participants and some kids will play a sport simply because they know they will get playing time. For Willard kids choosing between football and soccer probably comes down to being more of a social decision.
