SO, did the family move to the RV District or did he Open Enroll and thus will only be eligible for the first 11 games? Sorry I can’t help with that. My third hand knowledge is pretty limited. All I know is that it was a nice win for Ontario against a decent opponent!

On any given day a team could be missing players an hour before the jump ball and return for the next night. Everyone is going to be vulnerable to their own depth this season.

"missing players an hour before jump ball and return the next night", has happened in the past. Only for a different reason this year. EXCEPT, if contract traced before the "the jump ball" they SHOULD NOT "return the next night".

The new player for RV I believe is Beard, a scrappy, hard nosed player who was on BV last year. The rumor I heard was that Beard got into a fight with the star player from BV (the one who nearly broke his neck last year) and there was no way he could come back given the messed up team chemistry. Please know that this is all third hand and could be completely false. This is just what I heard in passing, so please don’t treat it as the truth unless someone else can confirm it. Beard is the starting point guard for R Valley this year. I was told same story. Could be rumor or true?

I will stir the pot to get comments. Early season guesses on the MOAC. Shelby - best IF they get to play. 3 good teams. R Vall, Marion H, Ontario 3 bad teams. Shelby and 3 good teams beat Galion, Pleasant and CF. 1 good team upsets Shelby. Shelby has most talent. R Vall 2nd most. Galion least talent. Galion will not win a game in MOAC but coach getting what he can from what he has. Shaver will be double teamed all season. Ontario will struggle to score. Pick: 1 - Shelby 2 - R Vall 3 - Ontario 4 - Marion H 5 - CF 6 - Pleasant 7 - Galion Shelby is favored to win their district. D2 Weakest district it has been in many years. Ontario should make district. R Vall should make district. Others out early.

Since RV has 2nd most talent, it must have been coaching that allowed Ontario to beat RV in their gym. For RV to finish 2nd, they would have to be the one "good" team predicted to upset Shelby.
RV "struggled to score" more than Ontario did.

That may be true but I hope you are not meaning the Ontario broadcaster. That guy works for the schools and couldn't call a fair game if his paycheck depended on it. He is fun to listen to though. Always good for a laugh.

I see Shelby being a top team but Ontario has a kid that has been starting 4 years and been the focus for 3 years. I would expect him to average 25 of more a game. Plus they have a coach that has gathered many voted awards over his 30+ year career that most he will face will never see. Being the Shelby and RV are young a fresh coaches should mean that Ontario is battling for the top as well. Marion Harding also has a veteran coach that took a different path and could rally a good team on any given night to upset a better team.

In 30+ years Balogh has only had one player average 25, Chris Morris. Did you see him play? Compare him and "the kid that has been starting 4 years". 20 per game would be a lot for him. He's never averaged more than 16 and is only averaging 15 though the first 3 games this year.
More proof of not being very knowledgeable.

"HOnorable mention" ROFL.....ALL teams get one if their coach puts in for one. RV went 5-7 with those players last year. Bringing back players doesn't necessarily mean they go 11-1 the following year.

Bringing back players doesn't necessarily mean they go 11-1 the following year. I didnt say 11-1. 6 boys voted first team. 3 return - Pugh Shaver and Johnson. 6 boys voted second team. 3 return. Morris Bell and Lantz. Math = 6 returning first and second team players. Shelby = 2. Ontario = 1 River Valley = 2. Harding = 1. Look at league leaders from last year. Who is back this year? Kurtz from Ontario. Lang from R Valley. Rich from Harding. Tedrow from CF were all Hon Mention returning boys. You saying they are no good? Hon mention is coaches favorites? Thats my 2 cents. Ashland 60, CF 47. Colts was ahead by 3 at halftime.

AGAIN....5-7 record with the players that are back this year.
If a coach feels ONE of his players deserves some recognition, he can submit his name for Honorable Mention, that player will get it. A coach's "favorite" could be voted 1st Team All-League. OR be the player at the end of the bench.

I saw the score for last night. Olentangy 77, R Vall 66 R Vall 3-5 overall and 3-1 in MOAC. Agree their wins are against combined 3-11. Top teams should sweep CF, Pleasant and Galion. 6 wins by doing that. R Vall also has 3 easy kmac wins Highland Mount Gilead and Northmor. Who was out for Ontario last night?

Shelby's Health Dept. Has given their blessings for Shelby to restart the season just waiting for the board to approve. Girls is supposed to play Marion Harding tomorrow with the boys traveling to Galion on Friday. It would be really nice if the season can get restarted. The girls might be pushing it to play tomorrow but we will see

How quick things change when nasty e-mails are sent and a bunch of people show up for a zoom board meeting. Today in the MNJ the Health Department, Super and BOE were all toeing the party line.

Then play all games on the road. That way parents/family can get tickets to games and see their kids play. AND maybe that will force the powers to be to let the parents in Shelby's gym to watch their kids. The parents have done a good job so far of forcing the issue with their Health Dept and Administrators.

A few days ago they were very critical of people for questioning their decisions...now they are ok with it.
