7:30 on BTN
Ohio State leads the series 6-0, and has scored at least 49 points each time.

Maybe I’m wrong though and Ohio State scores about 70, which they probably can if they want to.

It is apparent, Ryan Day's top objective, is to develop and improve depth at every position. So, it might be wise to have your roster sheet handy, when viewing the Buckeyes Saturday. Again, developing means actual and meaningful, on field PT for those further down the depth charts, unlike any year we have ever seen previous.
GO BUCKS!!!!

Not really liking how Ohio State looked tonight. Very lethargic. Lots of missed tackles, especially in the secondary.

Far from impressive in 2nd half especially on defense.

Yeah this has been tough to watch at times. Maybe it’s just hard to stay focused with no fans and playing Rutgers.

Actually it's hard to stay focused up 35 to 3 at halftime against a pathetic team.

The O-line starters never left the field. THE MOST important player on the team played every down except the last play of the game. Does Garrett Wilson really have to be the punt returner when the game isn't on the line. If he has the surest hands, tell him that HE MUST fair catch every punt or he runs laps.

Our backfield looks like Lydell Ross and Maurice Hall are back there. Not impressed.

Our backfield looks like Lydell Ross and Maurice Hall are back there. Not impressed. Yeah our run game looks pretty bad, if we can’t even run well against Rutgers how are we going to against Alabama or Clemson. After 3 games the most glaring areas of concern are the secondary and the run game.

After 3 games the most glaring areas of concern are the secondary and the run game. Our roster of RB's, all lack the speed, shiftiness, elusiveness and creativeness we enjoyed with J.K. Dobbins. Of course, next year we have J.K.'s clone, that possesses all those qualities, in 5* TreVyon Henderson. Unfortunately, that doesn't help us this year.

Ohio St is ranked 20th in the country in rushing per game. Not to mention that have an elite passing attack. They will be fine

Outside of the military academies, no one runs that much any more. Every coach will tell you they want a balanced offense, when in fact they all want to see 300+ yards passing. MUCH harder to stop todays passing games than running games.

I'm surprised Zach Harrison didn't play more. Almost like he's been passed up on the depth chart.

Yeah this has been tough to watch at times. Maybe it’s just hard to stay focused with no fans and playing Rutgers. Good point and one thing I have pondering. PSU thrived on the white-outs and frenzied fans, OSU and most other B1G teams, likewise. Think lack of fans, either for or against, has had an impact on B1G teams especially. Look at ND last night. It sounded like 100,000 crazies there, but just the band and 20,000 or so fans -- definite home court advantage. Piped in music and fans just doesnt cut it, IMO. Any other thoughts?

I would have to agree to disagree on our running game being anywhere close to acceptable. Sure you want a great passing attack and it is much easier to pass and get down the field than run, but having that Dobbins like guy creates a sense of threat you can never undermine or neglect when it comes to your defensive scheme.
Instead of being able to drop 8 into coverage, having that RB will create LB’s to respect the chance of a run on any play. I would hate to see us rely on our QB for every little thing because or RB’s just don’t have the it factor.
Personally if we expect to bring home a national championship our running game has to come together. Without it expect the D coordinators of ND, Clemson, and Bama to figure a way out to slow down our boy behind center.

I have not once this year seen an opponent "drop 8 into coverage" on 1st and ten or 2nd and five or the like. If that's going on coaches can check out of a pass and into a run against a 3 man only front....OR.... Fields is good enough and unselfish enough to do it on his own. As a matter of fact no one has dropped 8 on 3rd and 10. Do you know how much rushing yardage Ohio State had this week? 217 Did you hear how much rushing yardage Clemson had this week? 34 on 33 carries. Did you know Alabama isn't winning because of their running game. Their QB is having a bigger year than Fields. Alabama is averaging 190 rushing/game...Ohio State averaging 215

I was lucky, but honestly I just had a feeling that Day wouldn’t want to put 70 up on them as he and Schiano are still really good friends. It definitely felt that way too as the playcalling seemed a little conservative.

I saw a quote from Ryan Day where he was basically hinting at the fact that it has been tough to stay motivated in games with no fans, no band, etc. These games probably do feel like glorified scrimmages for the players.
