The Polar Bears will most likely cruise through the Bay, the battle will be for 2nd place. It’s appears that Huron has enough girls in the program to have a Freshman team, that’s a good sign. I would consider the Huron varsity finishing in top 4 of Bay as a good year, hopefully we can get a season in!! The Polar Bears "cruised" to a 20 point beat down by the Lady Flashes tonight.

[br Just so you know, I was wrong on everything I predicted in that statement. I saw the Bears earlier in the week and noticed one of their starters were out and one of their key bench players too, but still had no issue of beating us (Huron by 50). I will say when I watched the Willard girls play I was very impressed with their ability to hit the threes with multiple girls, so I figured this game would be closer. I actually wished I could have seen this game. Some have the breakdown on this game. Still have to play them one more time, then I will it crow.

Bears w out a starter too. Very aggressive defender at the guard position. And an offensive threat as well. Bears missed open opportunities which is rare. Schaffer girl struggled. But having the best guard defender in the league(Sowers) on her it’s tough to score. Sowers also tied school record w 6 threes. Willards D is very tough. Missing the inside presence I thought was going to be an issue. But Stephens stepped up and took the brunt of the battle in the paint for the Lady Flashes. Syvonsak off the bench also gave Willard big help. Bears started to go on a run and Willard would respond w daggers from every player. Simple. Willard came to play and wanted it more. I cannot count any loose balls on the floor where a Willard girl wasn’t diving for it. I’m expecting totally different Lady Bears team at their place.

What a comeback by Margaretta tonight.
Maybe a little of a choke job by Bellevue too. 48 points in the first half and only 16 in the second half.

Leaving many open 3’s vs a team that shoots very very well. Bears went man pretty much all 2nd half. I felt both teams matched up well. Man to man is the only way. Great job Margaretta down 20 at half. Way to keep fighting.

Clocks that run when they are supposed to be stopped ... don't run when they should and the bleachers from 1954 Hoosiers on a stage. Definite home field advantage. I could go on ... but I won't.

They put new bleachers in on their 1954 stage. Margaretta has a nice gym, From what I can see on BCSN It is 100% NOT NICE. Everything from the bleachers, to the floor, the fans and the God awful green colors.....there is not a more pathetic HS gym within 50 miles.

I’ve been watching this league for a little while and all of the teams have improved greatly. Margaretta lost a lot but still grabbed a 3rd straight title and will remain top dogs for a long time. They only start one senior and the 7th won a league title. Even Huron started to look decent. Got to give Edison credit for the clean sweep against pc, oh, Huron. This year it wasn’t easy. Those teams all impressed me at some point. And Willard earned their second sbc bay title since joining the bay 4 years ago. Great season flashes.
Final standings 1. Willard (9-1) Margaretta (9-1) 3. Edison (6-4) 4. Port Clinton (3-7) 5. Oak harbor (2-8) 6. Huron (1-9)
