Why did it take so long for coaches to get adapt? Afraid even if get in, we'll get embarassed It's not about adapting, it's about swallowing pride. You know the preference of both Day and Wilson.

The passing game sucked but still not a single throw toward a tight end. I don’t get it, at least make the defense have to guard them.

I told ya Northwestern would prepare for the TEs, thus Ohio State countered by not throwing to them....per usual. Besides, Day and Wilson have a disdain for throwing to TEs. In this case, never swallowed their pride.

We did not impress the committee with today's performance. Hopefully, We get chosen for the Fiesta or Orange Bowls versus ND/Clemson loser. We'd get embarrassed in that playoff

While far from impressive, I'll say it - 22 players out hurt. Also, do you put a 1 loss non conference champ in playoffs over OSU?

Well it wasn’t the dominating performance we wanted by any stretch of the imagination. I will say though the buckeyes did have a bend not break attitude on defense.
I wonder how much having 20+ players out, impacted their game plan and level of risk versus reward. It felt like they were playing a don’t get anyone hurt mentality in certain aspects of the game.
The buckeyes did show some areas of dominance and that was the lines and running game. I am not sure what the H-E-L-L is going on with the passing game, but Fields didn’t look like anything we’ve ever seen.
I do however think their name will be somewhere likely the #4 spot in the playoffs. The question is, will the elite program show up or today’s mediocre team show up...
Big respect to NW though, they put together a phenomenal game plan. Had they not had the turnover and the buckeyes didn’t smarten up and just feed Sermon, I think they would have snuck out a W.

I still think OSU is the 3 and faces (2) Clemson unless Alabama loses tonight.

Yeah definitely looking like a Clemson rematch and they’ll probably beat us again. Hate to say it but they just seem more complete this year. I was at the game last year in Arizona, that sucked balls.

Not having Olave hurt—a lot ! Sermon took over. Had we gone to him more in the red zone, we win by 26-28

After watching these games today, I think Fields drops to the 4th QB taken in the draft, if not lower. Urban, Leinart and Quinn think he needs to come back for another year.

It seemed like Fields was holding on to the ball a lot, were the receivers just not getting open? Wonder how much not having Hartline there hurt that.

You didn't notice the miscommunication on routes between the young receivers with little game experience and Fields?? Fields and Olave both have said all they need to do is glance at each other and they know what they want. That DOES NOT happen with Freshman that don't play much.

The Ohio State offensive line and Trey Sermon's dominating performance 2nd half, secured the win and a playoff spot. The Buckeyes were underwhelming the 1st half, much like ND the entire game.
1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Ohio State 4. ND
5. A&M 6. Cincinnati

I was waiting for the Michigan game to post this, but Michigan went yellow. I'll place this here even though this game doesn't count as a regular season game. 5-0 in the regular season so here's the updated stat
Ohio State's REGULAR Season record since the start of 2012 98.3% 59-1 - When any QB on the roster not named JT Barrett started the game 87.8% 36-5 - When JT Barrett started the game

Read this on Twitter a week ago, I'm paraphrasing and going off memory
"I knew OSU wouldn't win it all in 2019, it wasn't our type of Champ season. '02 everyone saying it wasn't legit b/c of the PI on 4th down '14 everyone saying it wasn't legit b/c Baylor or TCU should have been in instead '20 is our type of Title season"
I thought weeks ago that Sermon was ELITE, Eddie George, Zeke Elliot type elite and was hoping the coaches would feature him and didn't really understand why Teague was the feature back. Well Sermon just showed the coaches with 331 yards that he needs to be fed the ball more. This is reminiscent of '14 when Zeke became ZEKE in the Big Ten Championship game. Then continued it vs Bama and Oregon. Sermon just showed everyone that he is elite. Does he repeat this like Zeke did? If so that takes a big load off of Fields back and can hopefully make him feel relaxed like Cardale was relaxed knowing he was handing it off to #15 who was gashing Wisconsin, Bama and Oregon at will.

Our Covid depleted OL, answered a lot of questions for the coaching staff vs. MSU. They know the backups can be plugged in and play at a high level, giving a starter a breather. I like the prospect of a pound, pound offense, with a quick, play-action passing to Wilson, Olave and others. I agree wih Rambo, quite timely for the emergence of our newly elite status of Trey Sermon. OL and Trey Sermon are brimming with confidence and lusting for the next opportunity.

Now confirmed:
1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Ohio State 4. ND
5. A&M 6. Oklahoma
Will A&M and Oklahoma be paired in a major bowl game?
